Best way to keep your DD beading well?

ya i suppose so. I've been busy lately. modding the car, moding another msg board, going to orientations for college, finding an apartment, working entirely too much, detailing everything in sight, etc etc etc.

I'm back now though :D

My car (only car) is still beading quite well at 6 weeks with AIO/2xUPP with almost daily rain for the first few weeks after application. I wash weekly and apply HGAS after each wash. I think the HGAS has been the key in my situation as others have reported less than stellar durability with UPP.

I have also just ordered Collinite 476 and also have their 845 to try as well on my car and another family vehicle. Can't wait to try those. Any prep tips on those?

I haven't gotten bad durability out of UPP? hell, 3 layers of it has lasted me over 3 1/2 months 2 times that ive used the combo. what was your prep work under the sealant?

Neothin - I have gotten excellent durability out of UPP, but there are other that report that they get a couple of weeks and then no slickness or beading. I agree that the slickness goes away pretty fast, but the beading is still there. In fact, it rained this morning (after at least 6 weeks post application, have to check my log to be sure) and the water beaded and ran off like crazy. I think I will reapply in a couple of weeks so won't be able to provide feedback on how long I would be able to get. For the prep, all I did was clay, AIO and UPP followed up by another layer of UPP the following weekend after a wash. Nothing special.

As far as prep with 476s/885, I've been reading that it goes on much easier when you heat up the wax with a hairdryer before removing it from the tub. Consequently, it goes on "smooth as butter." Reviewers are saying the 485 goes on and comes off with no problems whatsoever.

Unlike other readers, my container of 845 is quite liguid, even right out of the box that it was delivered in. It is 80-90 degrees here almost year around, so that probably helps. A quick shake and even the full container was ready to flow out of the container. I have even thought about replacing the locking cap with a flip top spout to apply like a squeeze bottle to my applicator.

By prep, I was referring to if the paint needed to be cleaned chemically prior to application. I have cleaned the paint with AIO before applying EXP and UPP and haven't had any problems. On a family car, where durable protection is the main concern and gloss is far, far secondary, I was just wondering if applying 845 after a wash was good enough. This vehicle was last protected with NXT Tech (which I don't really care for). Just wondering if it NEEDS to be cleaned with AIO before applying 845 for durability. I assume it did, just being lazy I suppose. But what's another 30 minutes or so for AIO? Haha.

I have the same color Honda Accord. I use Collinite #845 most of the time, and it looks as good as anything I've tried.

Durability for the 845 and 476S are both excellent.
