Best wax for depth and shine out there...

Assuming proper prep work was done. Prima Amigo followed by Bilt Hamber Finis wax looks great. Dodo Supernatural, orange crush and rainforest rub. Four Star UPP is another great option.

definitely can't go wrong with bfwd, it's my favorite. i like trying different last steps over the bfwd and was pleasantly surprised by using megs #26 hi tech yellow wax over it. very easy on and off and a great, soft, deep finish.

Thanks for all the advice! I purchased BF midnight sun just now and will try 2 coats of it over BFWD! super excited to see how it looks. finally getting some better weather in Chicago to get started.

It's AMAZING how much emphasis is put on "which wax is best" when we all know 90%+ of how a car looks when it's finished has to do with the prep. 3 coats of this and 6 coats of that and cure for 12 hours or cure for 2 hours. It's kinda crazy how much hype we all buy into.

Very true. I said that in my previous post on this thread (#10). Every customer I have ever had has been happy with the results of whatever product I used. How many can actually tell the difference between a 94% improvement and a 95% improvement. Either way it looks outstanding. But each LSP has it's subtle differences which can vary by conditions and paint color.

But I agree, the best wax in the world isn't going to look nearly as good when applied to bad paint as the cheapest wax will look on perfectly polished paint. That still doesn't mean that you can't get that extra 1% improvement that we all strive for.

Sorry but I totally disagree with the main point of this. Once the paint is corrected, that last 10 percent becomes quite important.

Ive used a dozen products over the last couple years and LSPs can be very finicky and some can even cloud the finish.

For instance Ive tried some really bad products on my DD, eagle one was really bad, made it look hazy and dull. I tried using a cheap carnuba paste over NxT and it streaked to all hell, made it look 3 shades of blue.

On my Vette Ive tried a handfull of things and I can honestly say the wet ice over fire has made it look noticeably better. Is the extra effort over just the wet diamond worth it? For my DD, no, but for my Vette, YES! And its no garage queen either, I drive the piss out of it when I drive it.

I would assume by your screen name you have a motorcycle as well?

Used to, probably owned 20 of them. Mostly street rode for a decade, then mostly track road for another. But I gave it up when our daughter was born. Wifey let me buy a Vette though :)
