Best Vacuum?

I am looking to buy a vacuum for my detailing projects. What is the best vacuum and where can I get it the cheapest. Craftsman shop vac or I saw a Wet n' Dry Suck n' Blow I think was the name of it. It looked like it would be good. Thanks.

I use the the Craftsman shop vac. Bought for under $100. Works well. I also have a shark minivac that I use for tight spaces.

Well I bought a Rigid Wet/Dry Shop Vac today ($69.00) at Home Depot. 6hp 16gal. Works great and it comes with a lifetime warranty. :xyxthumbs

I have the Vac N Blo. I really like it.

turbo,

How do you like your wall vac? Do you think it has enough power for the full 18' of hose? What is involved in taking it off the wall?

thanks,

there is just a little latch/clip on the side that you pull on and it releases from the bracket. I havent had any trouble with the power of it. I was using a shark vac before and this is definately an improvement!

I have the same one as Ranney and have been very pleased with it. It looks like R2D2. I also picked up the 1.5" hose detailing kit with it that extends the hose length another 10' and also reduces it down to 1.5", which is a little more manageable when vacuuming cars. I got a heck of a deal last winter as they had the 12 gallon on sale for $39.95, but were out of stock, so they substituted the 16 gallon for the same price.:bounce

I bought a Ridgid WD4050 a few weeks ago at Home Depot for $70. Its a 4 gallon vac with peak 5hp. I think its strong enough for doing most detailing jobs and small enough to fit in your trunk with all or most of your supplies. This vac has a 1-7/8" hose and comes with a 1.5" adapter if you wanna buy extra accessories (like a crevice tool).
