Best Tape for decals and trim

ok people - I need yoru oppinions on the best tape to use to prep a ride for buffing, to cover decals and so fourth . . .





also, any suggestions on paint safe markers to circle of highlight bad spots to spotbuff or focus with a rotary or pc

I use the 3M Green painters tape, also have 3M blue....

3M blue painter tape for me...never had a problem

The blue painters tape works OK, but Ive found the green automotive tape is a little stronger. Both can be had at your local Wal-Mart for ~$3-5 a roll.

Same here, one of those two. Just avoid cheapie generic blue tape, I've had some hideous residue issues that led to re-doing the polish around the masked areas



I mark problem spots with a mild polish, something I don't mind allowing to dry completely. The idea of using a marker gives me the willies...
