Best starter package

Ahh the first post..... I like many of the people on here are looking to give the cars that better look. The look that will make people wonder how new of a car it really is. I used to do some detailing a couple years ago for a Hummer Dealership. Since then I have moved on to better things, but have fallen by the wayside on detailing a bit due to other things going on. So here I am. I have read the e-book, and look forward to spending some money here to get back into things. Its just there are so many different products out there it gets confusing. I don't know if there is a simple list for getting the feet wet again as to what polishes, wax, sealants to use. Any help or direction you can give me would be wonderful. I am just starting at the tip of the iceberg here with all the information that is on this forum. SO maybe there is a list I just haven't seen it quite yet.

Oh and I have been requested by my Mother, for Mothers day to detail her silver BMW up like I used to when I worked at the dealership and got those vehicles all ready.

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to the many more posts in information to cram into this brain of mine.

If I had just lost all of my supplies in a fire and needed to get back in the game quickly and cheaply, I'd head to Autogeek and pick up:

Prestige III Kit

Lexol Value Kit

Anything else (mitts, etc...) can be purchased locally.

:welcome to Autopia The Canuck :ca

You are of to a good start with DavidB's e-detailing book

Welcome back!! As someone posted previously.........David B's E-Book is terrific! I refer to it as the bible of detailing!! ( no offense to those religious types!) In my humble opinion, you can't go wrong with any of the products from the following: P21s,Klasse,Sonus,AutoGlym, 303,1Z and ofcourse........ZAINO!!!

If I were to start all over again new, I would buy the following:

1. PC7424 Sonus DAS polishing kit

2. Klasse AIO

3. Klasse Glaze

4. S100

If the paint is is pretty good condition already, this will be all you need for any daily driver. If not, you will need some super swirl remover. Most here recommend SSR 2.5, SSR 1, or Megs DACP depending on the severity of the swirls. You might need to polish after this above steps depending upon your skill level. THen back to the listed products above
