best shampoooooo?

Ebony, I have one full jug and half a jug of NXT left and since I tried out the DG car wash concentrate, I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever use up my NXT. I've been using NXT car wash since around time the NXT line came out. I thought it was a pretty decent soap until I used the DG soap. With all the rave reviews it's been getting lately, I wouldn't be surprised if the DG cwc is the next item to receive a price hike like AquaWax. Pick some up at Carquest while they're on sale.

What mix ratio & setting are people using the Duragloss & Z7 in the gilmour, not had good results myself.

The question is, what exactly do they consider to be "durable 'polishes' "?

That is my question exactly.

DG labels their own sealants as "durable polishes." They are synthetic, as is Zaino, and both lines are very durable. The DG wash will not harm the Zaino in any way.

I want to use some in a foam gun, can I count on getting a thick consistancy of foam on the car or will it be like other soaps and just run down the sides of the vehicle. Also ebony to help combat water spots you may want to look into purchasing a water filter system. I recently got one from Online Water Filtration Products Catalog of Pure Water Products, LLC

They were very helpful and even knocked some of the price off because I thought it was a little to much.

Prima Mystique is my favorite after trying gold class, nxt, DG 901, DP's sonus and zymol. It seems to not effect the LSP but does not foam as well as others. Plus it's available to me locally in a gallon size.

I used the Chemical Guy's Citrus Wash & Gloss for the first time this weekend. Good lubricity and it left a nice shine on my wife's Suburban.

+1 for the DG901. Used Gold Class until I tried the DG and now there is no need to go back. I am using NXT when I am washing in prep for a new coat of LSP.

I had some gold class and zymol hd cleanse before and they were very nice but I have been buying the gallon size jug of turtle wax platinum car wash from odd lots for $4. Best bargain out there. When I have more money I might try the chemical guys or the Zaino car wash for kicks.

I stick with what works for me, which is Griot's. I tried NXT, but after a few washes I didn't think it held up to how well Griot's performed in lubricity and looks. I also find it gentle on my LSPs.

Griots, DG 901, and Werkstatt Autobody Wash are my favorites.

I'm mostly using Werkstatt Autobody Wash at the moment because I'm using Prime/AJT/AG on my car and prefer to stick in the same product line.

However, Meg's GC will certainly do in a pinch if you need something OTC and can't find the DG in your area. GC is actually pretty good for a widely available OTC soap IMO.

Same here. I was just struck by the LSP-mildness again yesterday- it simply doesn't seem to have an appreciable effect on my waxes and sealants, they last far longer than they oughta.

I really like NXT. It reduces water-spotting better than anything I've tried before. It's specially formulated for hard-water and rinses beautifully. If you have concerns about reducing LSP durability, do what I do...use less. It still foams and cleans well; just not as strong, and it really helps with mineral staining. :up

Chemical Guy's Citrus Wash & Gloss does an excellent job at this as well.

Another vote here for CG's Citrus Wash and Gloss. I've been running shampoo after shampoo through my new foam gun, and so far, the winning combination has been 3 oz. of Z7 with 1/2 oz. of CW&G and 28 ounces of water. Doesn't touch the LSP, and gives you this unbelieveably nice layer of foam. The Z7 lubricates and foams, while the CW&G cleans, prevents water spots, and gives a shine that is the best I've seen from any of the shampoos i've tried. I'm going to be replacing the Z7 with some DP Extreme Foam for today's washes... we'll see how that goes.

Thank you for all the pointers. Is it bad that I don't like to change a product that I use on my cars before I consult this forum?:chuckle: :hide:

meguiars # 62 wash put 3 gallons of water in two and a half ounces of wash in stir and there it is a really good wash.
