Zaino Z2, very nice but $9 shipping of a $20 product seems to be putting me back(so I won't get it).

There is a small communications store in Steveston where you can buy Zaino products locally in Vancouver area. I have phoned them myself to confirm this a few months ago. The place is Norcom Communications.

I found this out AFTER I had ordered by mail from Zaino supplier in Guelph, Ont.

Zaino is VERY reflective and gives a slicker feeling as compared to Klasse and UPP. I find it gives me about 3.5-4 months of very good beading. It has been six months now and still beading okay but not slick feeling anymore. Will have to wait til the weather is more cooperative to re-apply and use up my Z2. Would like to try NXT when it is available though, provided someone has tested and found it's durability to be comparable to Z. Durability is important up here due to all the rain.

Norcom Communications Ltd.

270-3580 Moncton, Richmond

Phone 270-8056

Use the Map&Directions link at www.mytelus.com to find it and detailed directions.

Phone ahead to ensure they have the items you want since it is a telecommunications store and they only sell Zaino on the side so inventory would be small. When I last checked in Sept, they did not have the new and improved formulation yet and they did not know what the difference was in the packaging.

Note that you would have to pay PST whereas if you ordered from www.zaino.ca, you would not. Only pay GST. Therefore, if you bought say over $100 of stuff locally, the PST would offset any savings from not paying shipping.

Anyway, you should not only get Z2. If you've read around Autopia a lot, you'll have learned that the key is prep. Since it would be a new car, claying is not as important but still useful. BUT to use Z2, you WILL need either Z1 or ZFX for proper bonding. And Z6 is almost a must if you plan on using the Zaino system. You don't have to use Z7 for washing though it is relatively inexpensive compared to the other Zaino products. I have it but personally use QEW mostly since I can wash the car inside my garage.

I'm kinda worry that it may not be there (not sure), if they ARE not there what's the second best?? SG?? Remember, I want shine, depth and durability.

Zaino is available online in CanaDUH .. do a search for it .. I think its CROWN AUTO EMPORIUM LTD. Z and SG have two different end results.

I know they have a Canadian site but the thing is their shipping is wayy too high :(

It looks killer on my 2 black cars, an Audi A8 and an Acura MDX

This is the MDX hoodhttp://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=31324

Aside from my obvious pick, I've tried Platinum and like it alot (easy to apply) and i've tried Autoints, which was good.

Pretty sure it will be available. However, if unavailable and you don't want to spend US exchange, duty, and shipping for Klasse twins (AIO and SG), you could perhaps try the Autoglym equivalent of the twins, which is available locally. Autoglym Super Resin Polish (SRP) and Extra Gloss Protection (EG) work like the AIO and SG, respectively. They are available at Mopac on Kingsway in Vancouver or King George Highway in Surrey. They retail for about $16 and $26 CAN. However, SRP might stain your trim whereas AIO won't.

If memory serves me, other Autopians who have tried both seem to think Klasse SG lasts longer and more brighter reflectivity but Autoglym may darken and deepen the look more like carnauba as well as be more forgiving if you don't remove all your swirls beforehand.

Jesstzn,

I see you have used Glanz Wax and Zaino. How would you compare the two? Looks, ease of use, etc. I ask because I have been a zaino user for a while but I have the itch to try something different and have been reading about 1Z products.

Glanz is toally different product than Zaino and a different look . Glanz was very easy to use and forgiving. Just need to get it on thin like the rest. It has a deep wet look and the durability was better than #26. I liked the look and it doesn't need special prep. like Dawn etc. Yous still need a good surface as it won't hide anything. I used Menzerna under it.

The picture of the Bimmer with the palm trees looks like it has been wet sanded to perfection and is most likely NOWHERE NEAR representative of most vehicles on the road today. Remember, 90% of a great finish is in the preparation and not the final product.

C-MDX,

Anyone?? I want to get something like this (see below) but with the durability of a sealant. I try to advoid carnuba wax since I have to wax every month or so and that's not a thing I want to do every month

This is my former 1999 Jet Black 740iL, (I sold it about 3 months ago). To achieve these results here is what I did.

1. Wash with Griot's Car Wash.

2. Clay surface with Griot's clay and Eimann Fabrik Clear Pearl Quick Detailer as a lubricant.

3. Polish entire car with Griot's Machine Polish #3 using a Porter Cable Random Orbital Polisher about 2 or 3 times and wipe off any remaining polish.

4. Apply Klasse All In One acrylic polish/sealant and wipe off. (I waited overnight to apply next step.)

5. Apply 2 layers of P21S Wax.

6. I use Eimann Fabrik Clear Pearl Quick Detailer after applying the wax and for a daily wipe down.

I know this sounds like alot of steps, but once I got my car into this kind of shape, it was pretty easy to keep it looking great all the time.

On black paint, for a reflective and deep look, I really like AIO and or SG topped with P21S/S100 wax. Give it a try, you will like it!

Cheers,

Thanks everybody, how about this

- wash with Sonax gloss shampoo

- clay with Autopia bolck

- 1z PP with yellow pad

- same thing but with white pad

- 1z MP with white pad

- AIO by hand

- SG/NXT/#20/Glaz by hand

Does the 1z polish remove the swirls or do they just fill it? If they only fill it than I know AIO will remove it. I just realize that Zaino is only available in 8oz not 16oz, for $20 CDN, I don't want to get only 8oz and add another $30 for ZFX :(. AG seems to be expensive too. Can NXT/Glaz/#20 be layered (a coat every 24 hour)?

- wash with Dawn

- clay with Autopia block

- Menzerna IP

- Menzerna FP

- AIO by hand

- SG x3

- Top with NXT if needed

You worried about the Zaino $$$ but are spending close to the same for Klasse twins and on top of it the cost of the #20 and the NXT?
