Time to buy some new dvd's, list some of your favorite/best scary movies...I already have the ring 1/2, the grudge, salems lot, the fog, event horizon, blair witch project, excorcism of emily rose, exorcist, jaws and a few others I might have left out.

I am a huge horror fan....

Every horror collection shouldn't be without the basics...

1) Every "Halloween" movie made

2) All the "Jason" flicks (Friday 13th)

3) Saw 1/2

4) Day of the Dead (newest release)

5) Amittyville Horror

6) Exorcist

7) American Haunting

8) Pumpkinhead

9) Nosferatu

Just to get you started... :)

I just started a DVD collection a few months ago and since horror movies are all I watch here is my list.

1.)The Lost Boys

2.)UnderWorld 1&2

3.)Supernatural Season 1

4.)The Foresaken

5.)Land of the Dead

6.)Ginger Snaps 1&2

7.)Silent Hill

...just some off the top of my head. I was thinking about buying the After Dark Horror Fest box set, but it has mixed reviews and I don't want to spend $130 on something that sucks.

American haunting was pretty good and I own silent hill, love the games and the movie followed them pretty well! I keep seeing great reviews for pan's labrynth on rottentomatoes, it seems no new movies get good reviews on there...but surprisingly scream did.

Two come to mind....

1. Fatal Attraction (for obvious reasons)

2. The video tape from my first wedding

Seriously......The movies the get me are the ones where the "villian" of the movie is a real person or thing. Something that could actually happen.

1. All of the "Halloweens:

2. The first Friday the 13th

3. Cujo

4. Old movie called "Blue Sunshine" (This movie FREAKED me out!!)

5. Saw (1,2,3)

6. All of the "Hannibal Lechter" movies

7.Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original and newest remake)

8. Aliens (all)

I know there's more........

Gigli is a fright to watch IMO :). Anyways, the original Japanese version of The Ring (Ringu) freaked me out the most. A bunch of friends watched it at my apt one evening. Afterwards, everyone left and I was alone with the televsion off staring at me, yikes!!

I used to buy a bunch of DVDs. It adds up pretty quickly. You're better off doing BlockBuster Online where you only pay $17.99 and get all the movies you can watch. What makes it even better than Netflix is the fact that you can take your movies back to your local BB store and exchange for 3 more in the store. And in 1-2 days, you'll receive 3 more from BB Online. You also get one additional coupon per month to use in-store for either a movie or a game.

I have so many movies that I haven't even unwrapped yet or seen. And who really watches the same movies OVER and OVER again? Only little kids do that. At most I will watch a movie a 2nd time or once a year maybe? Since doing BB Online, I haven't wasted money buying a movie I'd only watch once or twice.

The Thing with Kurt Russell is killer :D!!! My all time favorite!

That's an old fav. of mine, too! Two others that may not be that scary but I really like are "The Shining" and (very minor flick) "The Serpent and the Rainbow" - about Voodoo in Haiti:soscared: :nana:

+1 for Nightmare on Elm Street (Dream Warriors was my favorite)

The Howling

House of Wax

Hostel

Hellraiser

The creature effects in this movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid. I think this movie is a horror classic, and I've yet to see effects that left THAT much of an impression on me since that movie. I love John Carpenter, and anything he does with Kurt Russell in it is guaranteed to be fun.

Jeepers Creepers 1, evil wins.

I remember the first time I saw that movie and I thought, "Wow, that's cool the monster won." It was only a fair movie, but the ending was a hell of a lot more original than most of the crap that's made these days.

I agree. The Thing just absolutely blew me away when I first saw it. Unbelievable that it was 1982. If they tried to remake it today with CGI it would never work!:)
