Hi. I am going to order products from Autogeek and want to know what are the best products that can be apply by hand. I want to use a carnauba wax for the car. There is a little swirl marks on the car that want to be fix by using a product and apply by hand. What thing need to be careful for using products by hand? Looked at the carnauba wax on the website and find there is a big price range for it. What product is good to use before the carnauba wax? Thanks.

I don't use anything by hand to get swirls out, but I've read that Scratch X is supposed to be OK by hand.

Its pretty good, but i dont think i would recommend doing a whole car by hand with it. Its good stuff dont get me wrong, but it takes alot of rubbing to get it to break down and really work. The results are great though when done.

Has anyone tried Meg's Professional hand polish?

I haven't saw that before... I have seem someone get decent results by hand with Safe Cut by the wax shop now that I think about it... I know the guy go it OTC, not sure if it was advance, autozone or pepboys...

As a "Zaino-Zealot", I'd have to recommend "guess what?". All of Zaino's products may be applied and removed easily by hand. I have used Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner Swirl Remover by hand, and it worked well cleaning and removing swirls and came off easily. I'd also suggest Zaino's All In One which I've also used by hand and is very easy to apply and remove. In fact, I have an Excalibur which is all nooks and crannies with louvres, etc so I have to do it by hand. (See the pics of my Black Beast in yesterdy's "Click and Brag".) My other cars have lots of open surfaces, so I can use my PC on them, but it's actually quicker and more economical to apply sealants by hand. I can apply Z-2 or Z-5 pro on our LS430 in about the time it takes to get out my PC, unroll the extension cord, plug it in, and put the appropriate pad on the PC. BTW, I'm a 67 year old chubby guy with rusty coronary arteries.

Carnuba is a great wax and can be applied OVER any sealant, but waxes do have a limited life, usually a max of several weeks, while most sealants last at least several months. Zaino does seem to have the edge when it comes to durability.

You could help all of us to give better advice and recommendations if you were more specific as to your location, and gave information about the car and the color and condition of the surface.

I think you can get PBs POLISH with Sealant at AG, if not go to PBS WORLD.COM. I got product from Steve and also this sites competitor. Ag has lotsof items on their site, I like smaler places to make the choices easier. PB's product are normally prices lower than the competiors, and work just as well IMO. also use some MALCO products as to not be entirely biased. RANDAL

I have used and still have some MG hand polish. But it will not remove swirls because it has very little cut.

You really need to used a polisher to remove swirls. It is soooo much easier.

Since you like Autogeek, If it were me I would go Klasse All In One and DP'S Max Wax or Pinnacle Souveran. No, Klasse isn't your ideal swirl remover, however your carnuaba should help mask them. If your doing by hand I just wouldn't waste alot of time and money with so called swirl removers, because they really need to be applied by machine. Years ago Klasse AIO and a carnauba was a go to formula for many guys.

The car is black and got it for around half a year. There is a little swirl marks on the car and the car is in really good condition. I am thinking of getting the Sourveran carnauba wax but is it really noticeable from other carnauba wax if it is apply by hand? Since the car is pretty new, I don't really want to use product that is going to thin the clear coat that much. What is a good sealant to put before the carnauba wax? What is the Klasse AIO? What other things is good to get for the car since I am getting it shipped internationally and want to get everything I need. Thanks.

There is a Souveran sizzling shine kit in Autogeek that includes the carnauba wax, bodywork shampoo, Pinnacle cleansing lotion and Pinnacle crystal mist carnauba detail spray. If the Klasse AIO is one of the thing to get, what procedure should the product be apply? The car just got clayed and Mothers carnauba cleaner wax is apply. Is it okay to use the Pinnacle cleansing lotion and the Klasse AIO on the car now? It should be okay since the two are not abrasive? Is it going to make the clearcoat thinner? Is a cleaner not suppose to be use that often? Is the Pinnacle cleansing lotion use, then the Klasse AIO and then the carnauba wax? Is clay needed before these things are apply to the car? Thanks.

Pin. Cleansing lotion does not remove clearcoat. It cleans the car in prep for Souveran. A good combo would be Pin CL, Clearkote Red Moose Glaze RMG, The Pin Souv.....

When you talk about cleaning a clear coat you are only removing or correcting a very little layer unless you use some of the heavy cut products.... The Souv kit is very nice. Remember a wax won't have the duration of a sealant. If you want a sealant that last a long time, I like Meg. #21.

Isn't that Meg's Pro Hand Polish just #81? Note that all the Meguiar's Pure Polishes (#3/#5/#7/#81/Deep Crystal Step #2) are functionally nonabrasive.

AutoGeek sells 1Z brand polishes. These are the only products I'd recommend for use by hand. They work and are very user-friendly.

Top the 1Z polish with the wax of our choice and you'll be doing as much as you can without a machine.

I can't recommend Pinnacle PCL and/or KAIO (both of which I use and like) unless you've already do a thorough marring-removal via machine. Just use the 1z polish (it leaves some wax behind, effectively glazing the paint) and skip the separate paint cleaner/glaze step(s).

Also, Pinnacle's Bodywork Shampoo is quite hard on LSPs (unless they've reformulated it since I used it last).

Since it is black, by all means clay that sucker, get rid of the swirls, use a good polish/sealant, and then use carnuba. Then get a good qd and use it regularly! Virtually all of the products recommended on this board will give you a beautiful black finish with only a moderate amount of elbow grease. Please post pics when through.

The Klasse AIO is not good to apply by hand and that it does not hide swirl marks? Is using Pinnacle cleansing lotion, Klasse AIO and then the Souveran carnauba wax good to apply by hand? What is a good quick detailer and clay to use? Is clay only for taking out things that are on the paint that is not clean in the wash? Is it okay to clay the car everytime apart from the time that it takes? Thanks.

For choosing on using a polish or a sealant, is a polish good at removing the swirl marks however it makes the clearcoat thinner? And the sealant only hides the swirl marks by turning it more round and does not make the clearcoat thinner? Thanks.

I know there are many questions because I am new on detailing. I am looking to use things that is going to hide and fix as much of the swirl marks and then use a machine to fix it later. Thanks.
