Best Polishing Compound?? Currently using perfect it II

I bought a PC and have been detailing quite a few cars lately with good results.



I've been using perfect it II on an orange pad for the heavier swirls/hazing (low end cars) and finishing with the Tropi-Care swirl cutter, then the xP polish/sealant from tropi-care.



I have been seeing pretty damn good results, but I feel like I could have some better products out there...



Anyone have any recommendations? I'm out of Perfect-It II and need to order a similar cutting compound. Let me know what is recommended or if this is a respectable product.

I had good luck with Four Star MCC with the UDM and a Yellow pad. Took out > 95% of the swirls and only deeper scratches remained. Finished down very well too. The only downside was the dusting but I think that was partially a result of using too much product. Its cheap too...buy it from Danase for $13.

For one you need to ditch the old school Perfect-It II.



I am personaly a big fan of 3M, and absolutely love the Perfect-It 3000 line.

Perfect-It 3000 doens't use any grit in their compounds, it's all chemical based to remove scratches. They also have 1500 dry-sand paper as well at the new Trizac which is a 3000 grit wet D/A pads.

I have used the PI3K line at work on paint not even 8 hours old to remove paint nibs and runs with perfect results.





If you really want to expand past 3M, there is Optimum and Menzerna compounds getting rave reviews.
 
Perfect it III and the likes are good. A little pricey in my book for what you get but you definatly get the results from it. If your getting good results why change? Seems to me like you have a good system down that's working. 3m makes great products. If it ain't broke don't fix it ;)

My go to compounds for some of the heavier stuff with the PC have been DACP and OC. The OC can be used in the sun and allows longer working time, but the DACP has a little more aggressiveness that can take out defects such as scratches and water spots that OC wasn't able to. I used PB 2.5 but just never got the satisfaction out of it and it dusted more than DACP.
