Best polish / sealant for dark colored cars?

I could really use some product suggestions for my 2001 Corvette.

It's Navy Blue, and the paint is in pretty good shape. But, I live in Arizona (yes, summer temps reach around 115 degrees - and yes, it's a dry heat). I not only want a product that gives the best look, but also the best protection for the temps here. I'm mainly looking for the best polish and sealant to use.

I've checked into the following products, but really want advise from people who have actually used these products (and any tips regarding applying the products):

Zaino

Autoglym

Klasse

Blackfire

Pinnacle

P21S

Wolfgang

Poorboys

An important factor, the products I purchase will be applied by hand.

Any and all suggestios will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a bunch!

Poor Boys Polish and SSR line is good.

WG Lacks power in cleaning IMO

WG is a nice sealant, works well on red

Zaino works well too, I prefer the look of WG

Pinacle Carnuba is nice

Blackfire I hear is great on red and black

I guess all the products can be applied by hand. The sealants such as Klasse and Autoglym will all last a long time even at high temps

i've got the same color-i've used Tropicare TC3 and it looks great-the mettallic pops-Blackfire and Wolfgang would be very good choices as well

Wolfgang is my favorite on black topped with a good caranuba and you've got a winner every time.

I'm not a big fan of doing any polishing though by hand. Many do it here with great success...when I was starting out I always seemed to do more harm than good when polishing by hand so I went straight for the PC.

I have really like the look that Glanz Wax (synthetic) gives on dark colored cars. I currently use it on my wife's black car. It extremely easy to use and has proven very durable both in the heat of the summer and in the brutality of winter. I also think that it has some ability to hide/mask some very light marring on a daily driver.

I have a Black Focus and a Red Sporttrac and I used Blackfire Polish and Sealant. Then followed it up with Pinnacle Liqued Soverign. That Liqued Soverign is nothing to joke about! :shocked It is just amazing. Both of my vehicles SHINED like a crazy diamond. :D :woot:

I have a sapphire blue car and my faves on it are the Klasse twins (AIOx2/SGx5) and the K twins topped with Souveran x2. K twins give the car an overtly showy, in your face look that just makes it stand out. Adding Souveran takes it up a notch and I get a dripping wet look. Look at my gallery and Qwik's gallery. Lots of blue.

a) Autoglym Super Resin Polish / Extra Gloss Protection

b) Klasse All-In-One / Sealant Glaze

c) Zanio Z2PRO / ZFX

LSP - Pinnacle Souverän Wax (deep gloss, and a â€Ëœwet-lookâ€â„¢, ideal for Red, Black or Porsche Speed Yellow and dark vehicle colours.

Actually, on a deep metallic blue, I like Meguiars NXT the best. My second choice would be either Wolfgang or 4* UPP. EX-P or Z2 Pro will give a clearer, more reflective look which some people prefer and others dislike.

The main thing you need to do is properly prep the paint. Since you are working by hand, I'd suggest Poorboy's SSR line or Meguiars #80 Speed Glaze or #82 Swirl Free Polish followed by either Klasse AIO or Clearkote's Vanilla Moose as your final glaze prior to waxing/sealing.

Thank you so much for all of the product suggestions. It has been a tremendous help. I think I have norrowed it down to Zaino, Pinnacle, Klasse or Blackfire.

One more question - wouldn't it be best to stick with the same product line for both the Polish and Sealant? Don't they kind of "work together"? :)

They do but I mix and match all the time with different product lines. I may use a polish, glaze and wax or sealant all from different manufactuters. Whatever works.
