Best Plan Of Attack For Dark Color?

I got a blue/purplish color. Currently Im using P21S wax, and its looks pretty good, but Im just wondering if it could look better.

I have been reading the reviews and some people say P21S doesnt give that real glossy wet look on dark cars.

I've read the reviews on NXT and that seems like it gives a wetter look. Same goes for Pinnacle, but I really dont wanna spend $70 dollars on a wax.

BUT, people have also been saying layering Klasse SG will give the car a nice wet look as well.

So my question is, what have you guys who have darker colors found works best to give that nice wet look? Should I look into splurging on the Pinnacle wax, or does multiple coats of SG do the trick just as well.

I know I could find out for myself by testing them on my car, but I dont wanna go and spend over 100 dollars when we have this wonderful forum, lol.

Heres a pic of my car for reference. In real life it looks a little more purpleish.

Hello there! Your car looks pretty sweet as is. If you're just looking to use a carnauba wax, the P21S & Souveran are my 2 favorites. If you like the looks of the P21S, you'll LOVE the looks of Souveran! I often apply a base coat of the P21S then top it with 2 coats of Souveran. It's a stunning combination. Are you thinking of using a sealant as well? Klasse AIO will provide a great base for carnauba. AIO + P21S + Souveran will blow you away! Here's some more combos I've used on dark green & black. Poorboy's EX w/Carnauba topped with Souveran. Wolfgang deep gloss sealant topped with Souveran. Klasse AIO, Klasse SG topped with P21S or Souveran. UPP topped with ( you guessed it ) P21S or Souveran. I'm currently using the Zaino system on my Black Tacoma. I strongly recommend the Z5/Z2 Pro combo topped with Z8. ( very nice! ) I know the Souveran (amazing on dark colors) is pricey, but in my opinion it's the best looking, deepest, wet look you'll find in a carnauba. Having said that........If you're not looking to spend the money on the Souveran.......Run to AutoZone & buy some Meguiar's #26 Paste Wax! Obviously there are more combos for you to use on your car, but these are the ones that I've had great results with! Good luck!!

I forgot to add a little bit about the layering of SG. I've used the Klasse Twins for years on dark colors. I've found the SG gives great shine/gloss & reflectivity. Inorder to achieve depth & wetness, I've had to top it with a quality carnauba. My favorite carnaubas are the following: 1)Souveran 2)P21S 3)Meg's #26 PASTE 4)Trade Secret.

WHEN IT COMES TO CARNAUBA WAX, PINNACLE SOUVERAN IS ,HANDS DOWN, THE DEEPEST MOST WET LOOKING CARNAUBA ON DARK COLORS.

BlkTac05,

Do you put a polymerlike NXT tech wax before your final LSP wax (i.e. Souveran,P21S, #26) ?

if yes, does it look better?

thanx btw.

I haven't used the NXT so I hesitate to recommend something I have no experience with. But in general, I do use a sealant if I'm planning on topping it with a carnauba. Like many of us "Autopians" I enjoy experimenting with different products. I also have different "moods" from time to time. Meaning.....Sometimes I prefer using carnaubas only........Sometimes I prefer synthetic wax/sealants only......Sometimes I prefer synthetic/carnauba combo. IMO, synthetics will provide durability & protection considerably longer than carnaubas, so using a synthetic sealant/carnauba combo should provide you the best of both worlds. ( durability/protection/appearance) Having said all of this.......the "inner Autopian" in me says........"try both"!! I've read some good things about the NXT.
