Best pad brand to replace old megs pads?

I switched from Megs to LC CCS pads. Meg's velcro backing doesn't cover the whole back of the pad like the LC pads so I get a lot of the "cookie cutter" effect when I bear down with my PC. Being that the LC backing covers the whole back of the pad, it's easier to pull the pad off of the backing plate, therefore helping the backing to stay on the back of the pad longer.

Okay so I guess that answers my next question... If I made the switch to LC pads would I have to buy an LC backing plate too or could I still use my Megs.

I use and like both brand of pads.

Megs yellow = LC white.

Megs tan = LC black.

If this is the case, where does the LC blue foam fall in comparison to Meguiar's pads?

I'm trying to find a flat pad for rotary use when applying finishing polish. The W9000 seems too mushy and absorbant in most cases. The W8000 is a bit too firm in many of the same cases.

When reading LC's site, I figured the blue was the softest and compared most closely to the W9000.

Here is my comparisons from Least to Most Aggresive (using a 1-10)

1.5 Lake Country Blue

1.5 Meguiars Tan #9000

2.5 Lake Country Gray

3.5 Lake Country Green

4 Lake Country White

5 Meguiars Yellow #8000

6 Lake Country Orange

8.5 Lake Country Yellow

10 Meguiars Maroon #7000

lake country white pad = megs yellow polishing pad

lake country orange pad = between the megs burgundy cutting pad and yellow polishing pad

I second. I have both the blue and black LC pads and they are more or less the same IMO.

The blue pad is softer than Megs yellow and firmer than Megs tan pad...smack in the middle. I've used the blue pad with finishing polish very successfully.

LC website says white is less aggressive than green.
