Best one step

From time to time I get a customer that wants a quick one step rather than a full detail. I will admitt some paints will do fine with a one step in excellant condition. What are your favorites? Gary

I donn't really have any favorites, but

these have worked well for me.

For cars that need cleaning and some protection:

Klasse AIO

PoorBoys PWC

GlipTone ProBuff

For cars that neeed a light polish:

FK1 #215

Hi Temp Paint Perfection glaze

On dark colors, Hi-Temp's Midnight Express is excellent. For other colors Hi-Temp's Paint Perfection Glaze is also a great product.

Meguiars #66 hands dwon IMHO. I also like PWC if working in the sun.

Gary, if you want to try the HT Paint perfection glaze PM me. I can't make it work for me, but you are welcome to it.

I too like Autoglym's SRP. No real cut (not quite nonabrasive) and not as good a cleaner as AIO, but it hold up pretty well all by itself and it's very user-friendly. Hides a little more stuff than AIO too.

And yeah, the 1Z MP and their Wax Polish Soft are good one steps with just a little cut.

I have most of the Meguiars pro line, can't remember if 66 in there. what other name do they call it, I might remember / is it the dual action product?

Meg's #66 is aka "Quick Detailer". Only comes in gallons IIRC. I see I was too slow in posting that....

I'd have to say AIO. It will probably last longer than any other one-step product out there. It cleans real well too. If you don't want a sealant. I would suggest Mother's Carnauba Cleaner Wax.

1Z WaxPolish Soft by far or Mother's Cleaner/Wax.

Both will work very well but the surface must be in pretty good shape.

#66 Quick Detailer

is an all-in-one cleaner/polish/wax with more aggressive cutting compared to their other cleaner/waxes like #6 (#66 gets a 4 on their scale like #80).

Not to be confused with

(#33) Quik Detailer which is the classic QD.

I wonder what bright boy in marketing came up with that brilliant scheme?

PC.

Eye shadow or lip gloss for me.

Do you buy it in bulk, I cannot imagine how much eye shadow it takes to do a car and I guess it would be expensive as well :)

Another vote for Autoglym SRP

I like Poorboy's Polish w/ Carnuaba, but I just got some 1Z Metallic Polish/Wax that I plan on trying out in the next couple of weeks.
