Best method to apply DWG?

What do you say, DA or hand? If by DA, what pad and speed? How long do you let it sit? How long should I wait to apply another coat? Will be applying 845 after, is there a cure time inbetween DWG? Is there a cure time for the 845?

Sorry for the many questions.

Respect,

Andrew

I apply DWG by hand with a foam appliacator pad. I apply it thin with little pressure and let it dry to a haze before wiping it off with a microfiber, then I apply a second coat right after or after lsp. I havent done it by DA but if I did I would probably use a finishing pad on speed 1 or 2 just like appying wax. Havent used 845 so I cant comment there. I think it looks good when I layer it with KSG.

Just did my Marauder today with DWG. FLEX orbital, black finishing pad, spread at 2, finish at 5.5, it just disappears, wipe down with a mf. Smooth as a cheerleaders thighs!

I prefer to wipe it on by hand with several microfiber pads switching pads often as the product builds up in/on the pad. That way you can work it into the paint until little or no follow up is required....

That's how I do it. You save a lot of product that way.

The blue pad does soak up some of the product, I have been doing some exparamenting with using a MF bonnet to apply stuff at really low speed (2). I started doing this with paste waxes because the blue pads woud absorb way too much wax. So far I haven't had any issues, and as a plus I can load the MF bonnet 2 times and do a full size truck. It seems to take 4 times more wax to use a foam pad.

DA with finishing pad. Here is the thing I have found with DWG with hand application. If you don't work it in enough the pollomers (spelling) really bond to the paint in a streaky kind of way. It almost looks like when you don't dry the car off properly and you get the water streaks. The streaks from the DWG are a pain in the butt to wipe off and sometimes you get marring or swirls trying to get these streaks off. It just shows you how well this stuff bonds to the paint. With a DA, it goes on evenly and leaves very little residue to clean off. I absolutely love this stuff. But have had quite a few streaks from a foam applicator that has taken much energy to get off.

If you use a foam applicator, make sure you work the product in well and all things will turn out well.

Sorry about the spelling, very long day.

I just use a blue LC pad on my udm at speed 3. The blue LC does soak up the DWG but a little goes a long way. A 4 inch line of DWG on a 6.5inch blue LC pad gets me about a door and half a fender.

Is there a cure time befroe applying another coat, or nuba? Thanks for all the replys. I think I may try half by hand and half by DA, just wanted to make sure it would br ok to apply by DA.

Aggain - Is there a cure time befroe applying another coat, or nuba?
