Best method for cleaning wheel & wheel well brushes?

My brushes get really dirty after some jobs and sometimes never return to their original color. I'd like to maintain as clean a set of tools as possible. I usually soak them in a dishwashing detergent/simple green/water solution for a day, but they are still black. Can a wheel cleaner be used to clean brushes?

yup. The same stuff your taking off the wheels is getting caked up in your brushes. So just use the same wheel cleaner to get it off the brushes.

Ive had the same problem after cleaning rims caked with brake dust. I tried and tried to clean them but I could never get it out. After I used them for awhile it eventually cleaned itself. Ill never use them again on rims that dirty..
