Best liquid laundry detergent for MFs

I use one tablespoon (15 ml) of distilled white vinegar per towel. Any more is just a waste and serves no purpose.
 
Thanks Spilchy, there is a Costco close by I will have to buy some and try this out. Do I just put this in the fabric softner dispenser and wash as normal?:nixweiss
 
:nixweiss about your vinegar. I like the Heinz Distilled White.



Yes, I load the fabric softner dispenser to the top at the begining of the wash. It works in the same fashion as if you added fabric softner. So it works during the second agitation / rinse cycle since it goes into the wash tub during the first spin cycle.
 
Micro Fiber Towel Care

1. First wash your new micro fiber towels to wash away all of the loose micro filaments from the towel.

2. Wash with warm water with any mild laundry detergent. Preferably a liquid type. Wash in "Delicate" Cycle.

3. Tumble dry at low temperature or air dry or line dry for best results.

4. Do not use fabric softener, bleach, or iron.

5. Always wash/dry your micro fiber towels separately from other types of fabrics.

Do not wash on delicate cycle. They will come out sopping wet and you'll have to ring them out. Also, that may lead to excess detergent still stuck in the towel. Furthermore, if you have caked on wax, polish or dirt, it is not going to come out.



I use the "Permanent Press" cycle which is in between regular wash and delicate wash. Works the best for me all the time. Just the right amount of agitation to clean completely while maintaining the integrity of the towel's construction.
 
I give mine a soak in a bucket with Meg's APC+ (diluted 64:1). Then squeeze them partially dry and wash them with a small amount of Arm&Hammer liquid. The APC is designed to remove wax and other detailing products, so it seems to help the laundry detergent.

I wouldn't because it would leave a film on the towel so when it gets wet again, it can transfer smears on to your paint. If you want, you can try a little bit in your wash (not the dryer) and report back to us. It doesn't hurt to experiment.



Do you have hard water? That can be a reason for rough towels. Are you sure all the detergent is coming out? Are you sure they are 100% cotton towels? Many say they are but they really aren't. The 100% cotton towels I have are koala buffing towels. They too get slightly rough.



This could be the nature of the best when it comes to cotton.

I bought my towels from Autopia Car Care and David claims they're 100% cotton so I got it from him. I washed it just like how I wash my MFs and how they're a bit rought to the touch :nixweiss. I don't think I have hard water in my area but this is only a guess, maybe other vancouverians can answer you that.

I'm worse, I do 5 sometimes. It just seems like when I rinse the towels and the water releases into my drain tub, I still see soap in the water.
 
I'm almost running out of Tide Free. Since Tide Free is powder, any good liquid detergent you guys recommand that is good for MFs (or MFs safe)??
