Best for Black - BF Black Ice OR Wet Ice Over Fire???

I have a black Porsche Macan that's brand new. I want to try the Black Fire products (which will be new to me)...but do I want the Black Ice product or the Wet Ice Over Fire combo? Both look to be the best...but which IS the best based on your experience???
 
I remember someone saying awhile ago they have used wet diamond on top of black ice. maybe best of both worlds?
 
Based on my experience - and I've used both, MS over BFWD AFPP is far superior in the looks department to Black Ice. I did not like Black Ice at all. It's heavily pigmented with "black stuff", it's like putting Kiwi shoe polish on your paint. It's not particularly easy to apply or remove. IMHO it's WAY overpriced for what it is. It looked kinda like "any wax" to me. Nothing special.

On the other hand, MS over BFWD is an amazing looking combo. I mean, it's really something special. Application and removal is a breeze. I like the water behavior it gives. It gives a nice jetting effect on black paint.

I agree. The Black Ice was the one product from Blackfire that I was disappointed in. I've since just stuck to WD and CS although I might give the Midnight Sun a try.

MS is really amazing. It may be the finest wax out there IMHO. I don't buy into hyping products, but this is really a wax you need to try.
 
I also agree on the above application comments regarding BlackIce. It's not an easy wax to remove whenover applied. Which is exactly what I did the first time. However, I do like the look of BlackIce as a topper to BFWD. The trick with BlackIce is applying it as thin as possible, one section at a time, and then removing it as soon as the swipe test says to do so. This winter I've had BlackIce over BFWD on my DD, I'll have to share how well its held up from 3 months of salt/grime/rain/ freezing cold weather.
 
Black Ice IMHO can be stubborn. I would go for the "Wet Ice Over Fire" combo. Both Blackfire products AFPP and Midnight Sun are very easy to use.
The "Wet Ice Over Fire" combo is Blackfire's signature look. I have heard it described many different ways. To me it looks like a pool of calm water.
I like applying at least two layers of BFWD AFPP before applying Midnight Sun. Durability is about three months. Did I mention it is easy to use?

IME it doesn't spread particularly well, so you end up using more for coverage that makes it a little difficult to remove.

I'm not saying it's really hard to remove. But there are just so many better products out there for a fraction of the price. I'd go with Natty's Blue over BI any day. I think Natty's is like 20 bucks. IMHO BI is worth about $22.95.
 
I love Black Ice. And Ron is right. I use to put wet diamond on top of it and OMG shiny! I never had any problems using BI I found it pretty easy. The first time I used it, i put it on thick and it sucked taking off but I chalked that to learning curve. After that I put it on thinner and life was good. Also if you wipe the bulk of it off after 15 min then put wet diamond over it streak free and a crazy look

I agree there are many products equal or easier to apply/remove and definitely less expensive but never really had much issue. I applied by machine. I find iBI durability to be great and when topped with Pinnacle XMT Spray Wax provides a great look.
