Best Filler Product out there

How did that happen? I just bought BH Auto Balm from him and it was like 7 bucks shipping or so. I live in PA also so it should be similar for you.

A couple reflections of a Range Rover Sport and Honda Accord trim I used BH Auto Balm on. One note that I discovered, on the silver Honda Accord I did, I didn't like it too much as an LSP, because it made the flake pop SO much that it kinda dulled out the reflections, so I wouldn't use it on a lighter colored car with a lot of flake. JMO.

And the trim, very damaged but BH Auto Balm restored it. I know they are different sides but they were equally faded and damaged.

 I just ordered 4 BPs, clay and Auto Balm from Ben and the shipping was a little over $20. Were you ordering some other heavy items?

Yeah, must have been all the liquid items bumping up the weight. I'll have to take another look.

Edit: So I took another look and the shipping is still 40% of the total cost for the auto balm and clay alone. Not as bad as the first order I priced out but not exactly easy to swallow. Especially for items that aren't terribly expensive. Maybe I am spoiled by the usual promotions or discounts available negating shipping costs.

Griot's sealant fills very well.

Thanks for posting that.

I haven't tried any of Griot's LSPs since the (very disappointing) BOS wax, but I'd wondered about their claims regarding the sealant's filling ability.

Is it layerable? How's the durability?

The sealant seems to be layerable. I can't comment on its durability, other than to say that it was doing well for ~4 weeks before I applied another layer. The car lives outside. The product was very easy to work with, application and removal was a snap, it had a darkening effect on Mazda's blue paint, but it's not as reflective as Z-2p as an example. It did fill well.

It's interesting that you mention BOS wax, as I got some to try, but haven't gotten to it yet. I heard that it was a bear to remove.

Thanks for that added info! Yeah...sometimes the darkening is OK and other times I don't like it. Good to know this product does that.

One last Q: does it stain trim?

While a few people here have liked BOS, it's one of the relatively few LSPs I've tried that I simply hated. I tried it on quite a few vehicles and in every case I was disappointed. I didn't like the look, it didn't shed dirt well, and it wasn't durable. And yeah...it's not the most user-friendly stuff in the world and I'm somebody who finds most *all* LSPs very easy to use. Yuck...much as I like to tout Griot's better offerings, IMO their BOS wax sure isn't one of them (and I don't care *how* many shows are won by cars that wear it ;) ). Heh heh, gee...I'm hardly ever so negatively disposed towards a wax!

I try to stay away from trim as a matter of practice. This said, I saw no signs of staining. Really, the product is so easy to work with that I'd be recommending it constantly if I could be sure of its durability. BTW, I'd be more than happy to send you a sample. Shoot me a PM if interested.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm currently turning down all samples as I haven't even tried the stuff I bought last year yet!

I'd appreciate a post back about the durability if you come up with any firm conclusions. Ditto for the trim-staining as I like to use sealants *on* trim.
