Anyone have any alltime favorite threads that you have bookmarked

My M3 will be arriving at port any day now and I will searching for old tips on everything from washing, claying, applying, drying, you name it.

If anyone has some must read threads you would like to share, please post the links, etc.

I'm a little unsure on the claying part, so that is my main concern.

I plan to

-wash

-clay

-wash

- Klasse (4X)

- S100

I may Z but I think the Klasse will go better with the Laguna Sec Blue.

Clay is a piece of cake. Just spray some soap and water, or whatever QD you would like to use, and then glide the clay along the surface. Nothing to it.

Check the articles section. There are a ton of detailing articles there that will help you. Also download the eBook. That will give you all the information you need to do an amazing detail job. :xyxthumbs

ps... Don't do all 4 layers of SG at once, of course. Make sure you wait at least 45 minutes before buffing it off and at least 24 hours before adding a new coat.

I was planning to wait the 45 min and then buff but I wasn't planning to give it time to cure.

Would the proper step be the next day, after it *cures*, I wash, dry and then Klasse or just use a california duster and then klasse?

I would always wash before treating the car with anything. Its not a step that takes too much time and it is a lot safer than just relying on the CCD to take everything off. Far less risk of creating swirls if you just wash it and dry it.

If you use the vehicle between coats do as Gingerbread Man stated. Wash. If vehicle is left in garage between coats just Cali dust and QD to enhance gloss and remove any residual sealant and apply another coats.:wavey

check out the "autopia member articles" section... there's a ton of great threads in there... :bow

other than that, just about all the threads more than 6 months old or so are wonderful! (back when all the :bounce oldskool members were still here!)
