Best carts for detailing?

i got some 100% cotton towel to remove wax residue on my truck is there anyway i can test them towels before i use them on my truck thanks
 
\You could do a CD test but this really only show harsheness versus another type towel.



Go to junkyard and get sample or find a friends car lol.
 
Do a quick search as I think yosteve described his test the best.



But basically get a crappy CD and rub it a bunch of times with moderate pressure. Compare the scratches with those of another product rubbed on another area of the cd.
 
What are some good characteristics of a detailing cart?

1. Mostly plastic construction (no rust, etc) so you can wash it if needed?
2. Good casters with locks
3. Ability to mount halogens?
4. built in electrical outlet strip (or add one).
5. number of shelves?
6. storage pockets for chemicals

Here is an image of a Luxor cart that is around $120. I know you can get cheap carts at Northern tool but they are sheet metal. The Rubbermaid plastic carts are near $200.

I've been shopping for a cart and found a used cart at a machine shop "going out of business sale" on Thursday.

Here's a pic of it in new condition.

I deleted the link to ULINE. It's called Little Red Cart.

Features I like.

  • My spray bottles fit inside the channels and don't fall when you roll the cart.
  • Two locking casters to keep it put.
  • Shelves are molded plastic. Easy to clean and no rust.
  • Shelves are adjustable.

I paid $45 for it.

Cleaned with APC+
Lubricated casters
 
I have three steel/powdercoated caster carts from Harborfreight, and I like top of the line stuff as funds permits......but @ $27.00 per cart it is impossible to pass up(Note the acrylic cutouts to hold the bottles are custom made @ Tap plastics).

Saw the Luxor gear @ SEMA this last year, and thier carts are injected molded plastic. When I went to order they wanted to charge sales tax to me even though I am in California and they are in Chicago.......uhm no.....went with the harbor freight and did not look back.
