Best Base work for Zaino

I'm going to be investing in the one of the PC kits availible on Autogeek. I have a dark pearl blue fusion and oxford white F350. Both have good paint that won't require tons of correction. The fusion has some pitting on the front bumper but its not through the clear. I want to use Zaino sealants on both vehicles after I prep them. I will be applying ZAIO before Z5, Z2, and Z-CS. I don't want the prep chemicals to react to the Zaino, what should I use? I am looking at either the optimum PC kit or the menzerna PC kit. Witch would be better for my situation? I will also be using these on other vehicles in the future. Thx :thx

If you're choosing between the optimum kit or the menzerna it, I'd definitely suggest the menzerna kit. I typically utilize menzerna for my correction and then, after a quick rewashing to remove any oils, apply a thin coat of ZAIO and then the rest of the zaino de jour.

thx, gmblack, I Haven't had any luck with finding more info and results from Z-PC, have you used it?

Also I will be using this as a starter kit so im trying to build Up an inventory, from what i've read people really like the menzerna on this forum, but how does the optimum compare to it? any mostly what will Zaino look the best over?

I have used the old version of Optimum polishes for a Zaino base and they worked just fine, that being said I prefer using menzerna to correct and ZAIO as a base. Z-PC is a great product and does a fine job of removing minor imperfections such as light to medium swirls. It is not my go to final polish just because I have so many others I'm use to grabbing first.

Since you are using this on a dark vehicle but plan to use it on others I would recommend the following as you starter kit.

Menzerna Intensive Polish, Menzerna 106FA aka Super Finish and ZAIO. With these three you will be covered for all but the worst defects and should be able to get the surface to 90% correction if not further if the paint is in good condition to begin with. You may also try Menzerna Super Intensive Polish but I have not yet used it myself so I can't speak of it effectiveness first hand, but I have read that it is just as good as Intensive if not better.

Hope this helps, make sure to post some pictures of your work and final product.

I have used ZPC and it is a nice "mild" swirl remover.

ZPC is highly "pad-dependent". More severe swirls can be removed by using a pad that has more density (LC yellow for example)... For finishing I use a LC white.

If you find that ZPC doesn't have enough cut, you can always go with the Menzerna, then come back for a final pass with ZPC before applying ZAIO, etc.

Anything will work fine, as long as you do a good wash and/or wipedown with alcohol prior to applying Zaino.

thx for the feedback everyone, think I'll get the menzerna kit, should I get any other pads or are the pad that come in the kit sufficient? Also after applying ZPC is a wash required before ZAIO?
