Best AIO?

I am down to my last bottle of Collinite 845 and I was looking into getting more of a AIO product. I found a few just wanted to see what everyone thought was best. Meguiars D151, DG 101 or 105, Klasse AIO, or Optimum Poli-Seal.

KAIO would be my preferred product. It needs to have a LSP applied over it. It has virtually no durability on its own.

I wouldn't really classify the other products you mention as AIOs.

Detailer's Pride offers an excellent sealant that is sort of a one-step as it contains a self-bonding agent in the formulation. They (Autogeek) suggest that you can clay your car and move straight to the sealant, Gilley.

Gilley, will you clarify whether you intend to top the new AIO with something or use it as a stand-alone? If you really are looking for a one-step product, and are moving away from #845, I like the Meg's D151 you mention. it's quite the value and offers a good amount of correction/cleaning.

I used Zaino AIO on my Tahoe. It really seems to work well. Good durability and a nice shine. But keep a open mind when choosing.

Those were just a few I could think of off hand. But I just wanted something that will clean as well as provide a good durability. My car is a single stage white paint so when I go a while without washing i might end up with a stain or two in the paint. When I first got the car it had a lot of swirls and I purchased the PC 7424 and quite a few polishes to get all the swirls out. I love the Collinite 845 durability but wanted something that would help clean the paint a little.

Why would you not classify Poli-Seal an AIO?

That is one I was curious about, I have some Opti-Seal that works great but just seems way to easy to me. I usually end up putting a coat of regular wax on after a week or so.

D151 for heavier correction (or you can "dilute" it down by mixing a little LSP in with it), or ZAIO/Poli-Seal for lighter correction but better LSP durability. Of course some paints may be finicky and you may need to use other AIOs but this is my general rule.

I erroneously assumed Gilley wanted an "AIO" as the preparatory phase or “base” and would finish up with something to offer more serious protection - - like the #845. I was thinking a couple steps ahead when I made that comment, my mistake. I suppose you could classify the Optimum product as a one-step. I own it, it has short life compared to other products. I tend to think of the AIO products as something that would have another product applied over it, a sealant, for example. The AIO products I have don't have much staying power.

Gilley, the D151 is a genuine "1 step" product. Problem is, I don't know how often you see yourself breaking out the PC to do the car. I can't imagine the D151 will offer any protection beyond a month or two...and that may be acceptable to you.

The car would need minimal correction at most from now on I had read some reviews about the D151 and I do think it would be a little bit more than what I am looking for as far as amount of correction possible.

If somebody's used to the durability of 845 (and I myself find its durability to be variable...) then I dunno if an AIO is gonna prove satisfactory by itself.

That said, I use KAIO, ZAIO, and SRP. All different, all have their uses.

If I understand the question correctly, the OP is asking for a product that provides both some cleaning action and durable protection. I'm dubious that he will find an AIO that will be as durable as Colly 845; but here are a couple of suggestions:

Duragloss 501

Meguiar's M20 Polymer Sealant

I have always topped these products with my preferred wax/sealant; but I have seen plenty of testimonies on the internet applauding their durability. Neither, of course, will correct the paint; but they will clean the paint. I've used both DG 501 and M20 to remove water spots, for example.

Yeah, that's where my head is at, too.

I used to use a true one-step product called Liquid Lustre. Don't know if the company is still in biz, but the stuff had very good longevity for what it was. I just get hung up a bit on products that claim to do everything in one shot: clean, polish, protect. They're somewhat exclusive functions and I think the final result is always going to be a compromised one. I dunno, I guess if you have time to use the AIO every 8 weeks or so, the Klasse might be a fair solution to this scenario. Or something like Meg's NXT ?? the new NuFinish?? (I can't believe I just said that :eek1:)

To me and AIO must clean, polish and protect. I have 10 or 15 products that claim to be an AIO. A lot of products claim to be an AIO but fall short in one department or another. Examples, D151 is a hell of a cleaner and polish but durability stinks. NuFinish does a great job of cleaning and protecting but it does not polish. FK215 cleans and polishes great, looks awesome too, but its less durable than some spray waxes.

The one that stands out in my book is ZAIO. Its a strong cleaner, has enough cut to remove micromarring on softer paints or works well to finish out something like 105. It is also very durable, I have gotten 6 months out of it with a car parked outside 24/7. The cherry on top is it looks great. Lots of shine, a little added depth and a nice glow. DG501 is a good product too, but not nearly as good as ZAIO.

Surprised no one has mentioned the soon to be released HD Speed. Isn't that supposed to polish, clean and protect??

Having used DG501 it does everything that ZAIO does. It is an excellent cleaner. I appplied it to a white lexus after claying and it still turned my white pad nearly black. It has enough cut to remove marring and also is very user friendly. I havent been able to test its durability (all applied to customers) but people claim 4-5 months from a single application. Also, 16oz of ZAIO is $27, and 16oz of DG501 is $13. Clear cut winner is DG501 based on the price and the performance it gives.

Another great AIO is Megs #66. It offers decent durabilty (2-3 months), gives decent correction, but best of all it is stupid easy to use. IME doesnt matter how little or how much you apply, it still wipes off very easy. If I had to pick two AIOs it would be DG501 and Megs #66.
