Best 100% Carnauba wax?

What product contains 100% carnauba paste wax. Is it a secret of how much they use of pure carnauba.
 
If it was 100% carnauba it wouldn't be a paste - it would be a block of carnauba wax...



Or are you saying that some of the wax may not be carnauba?
 
Like the others said, there are no 100% pure carnauba waxes. All have additional ingredients to add in ease of use, drying, etc.
 
Any carnauba that claims not to have cleaning agents in their ingredients will usually be termed as 100%.



The highest % carnauba on the market is about 61% of a carnauba content. Zymol has been quoted as one of the manufacturers that has the highest content of carnauba in their elite waxes (don't ask how much!). There are also one or two competitors in this elite segment.



Best wax is a subjective term and subject to a big and sometimes heated debate. Ultimately the best wax will prove to be the one that best meets its user's objectives.
 
Like the last person said, there really isn't 100% Carnauba you can use on your car, it'll be more like a brick.



The Carnauba contents forZymol are something like: Japon: 37%, Titanium: 51%, Concours: 47%. These wax range from 45 to 160 dollars.



I would personally recommend the paste from 3M. I think it's got a pretty good Carnauba content, but the most important thing is, they are very well made at a awesome price.
 
What is the highest proportion of Carnauba as a percentage possible in a wax, paste or liquid ? I was under the impression that 30% was the the most that a wax product could contain due to the nature of Carnauba itself. Also, (slightly off topic) what could a product possibly contain to make its price so high? (Zymol's high end) I have always wondered about that one ...

You heard it now, this thread will slowly spiral out of control over carnauba content, who is the best, etc...



Even the thread title made me groan :p
 
I asked about something similar in an earlier thread. Regardless of what other wonder ingredients are present, raising the Carnauba content should probably l o w e r the price for waxes above $20 a jar, since raw Carnauba is quite cheap.



A company is free to say whatever they want of course, and consumers can buy what they want for any reason at all. But it is implausible to argue that more Carnauba (in % terms) should raise the cost of waxes from --- let us say, $100 a jar to $200 a jar.



But perhaps some of these boutique waxes are better in some people's eyes. If touting Carnauba content is the way to sell the wax to these people, [even if it doesn't really justify the higher price] then so be it.

Thanks everyone with your comments. So with all this information all waxes contain 30% or less carnauba, making the worst wax and best equal in protection but not in appearance. This is because of the fillers and chemistry of each wax that is put together. So the consumer Turtle wax paste where you can buy anywhere probably protects as good as P21S or Megs #16 paste wax, Collinite 476 and Zymol.

My qualities of a good wax for my black car is protection. I want a wax to last for longer periods of time and bead like crazy when it rains. I now use a glaze #7 i believe from Meguiars and a liquid wax #25 from Meguiars on top.

With all this info about wax on this forum and reading that wax melts at lower temperatures then thought. I am thinking of going for a polish like Z5 from Zaino and leave it with that.

No. Not all paste waxes are created equal. P21S or Paste Glaz will not last nearly as long as #16 or Collinite 476.
 
Take your time and compare waxes. What works for me in terms of carnauba longevity is to (emphasize) slowly put on your wax deposits over a period of a few months. Your best protection will be a combination of keeping the paint surface clean, and using wise dosages of wax and maintaining it with a proven qd.
 
I've tried a lot of sealants on my black paint and I always end up going back to carnaubas. Sealant seem to give it a wet glass shine instead of a deep liquid black shine.



Another option is to top a sealant with a carnauba, or Klasse AIO topped with a carnauba.
 
I have read and I really can substantiate this but ,

Stuf creme carnuba has the highest percentage of carnuba somewhere around 40% followed by Surluster and Souvran.

I have recently tried and compared all plus Shining Monkey.

There was no visible difference between the 4. I actually really liked Stuf. I have found especially on black that Zaino products give me the deepest wettest shine and repel dust, I also have found that carnuba waxes attract dust like crazy and give my car this weird white blocky look ( kind of hard to explain ).

My second choice would be FMJ then Mothers Synwax.

I like the properties of sealants especially in real hot weather.

Anyone remember a carnuba called Blue Diamond I found an old tub I had,they don't make them like that any more ( I don't think anyway )
