Best 1 step product

If so, how long?

thx.

A few months in my area. Depending on eviromental issues in your area (acid rain, fallout), washing habits, etc. you may do better or worse.

That is the problem with trying to estimate how long something will last.

instead of a one step thing.. how bout just do color X, then NXT, and finish it up with #16 and it should last at least a couple months. like TOGWT says with the whole one man's opinion thing. :D

It's good to hear that it can last a couple of months. It's even better since I have it sitting on my shelf! I'll give it a try once I conclude my present test with IW.

My search for a great one-step may be unresolved. I'm starting to think there is so much fallout in the air, combined with the effects of acid rain, that no product is going to protect the daily driver for as long as I wish. I may be forced to admit car needs more frequent maintenance than every 4 - 6 months.

:o

If you were to use a one-step and wash with Perls once every other week, wouldn't the ever-so-slight protection in Perls aid the durability of the one-step?

I don't have the patience to test out one-steps:D I'm a fan of Color-X but I've only used it in the door jambs or under NXT on the company car.

I've always topped PwC but it is interesting hearing people use it as a cleaner wax. Keep us posted.

I believe you are correct...the harsh slap of reality. The fact that a product can "protect" for 6 years is really irrelevant. I worked my butt off Sat morning..wash, clay, polish, etc etc only to have my car "painted green " 1 hour later with pollen. I dusted her 3 times on Sat..came out early Sun morning to find that the pollen overnight was now glued to the paint because of morning dew. SHEESH!!!! What we need some small enterprising individual to invent, is a product that we can apply once..(after cleaning and polishing ..of course) that will prevent ANYTHING from sticking to the surface..and it will be self shining...yeah..it increases it's gloss just by sun and air hitting it...uh huh..and rain has a burnishing effect on it, too!..oh yeah..and it'll only cost $6.95 a gallon...at Walmart. OK...who's working on this? :o

For a 1 step product, I use the Tropicare polish. Pretty tough to beat IMO and seems to have reasonable durability.

I thought Tropicare was like Zaino, in the fact that it doesn't have any polishing or cleaning abilities. If that is the case, it won't do much as a 1 step product.

It's funny how nearly all off your posts talk about Tropicare.

After e-mails to Steve at Tropi-Care, he told me it does contain some polishing abilities with sealant qualities, and should last about 3 months. Have not used my sample yet, so cannot say for sure.

Actually thats not true. Why dont you take a look at some of my posts. If I use something, I post about it. Lately, all I have been using are the TropiCare products. I've posted about QEW, Ive posted about PoorBoys products, NXT and other things that I personally have used. I just dont buy every polish/wax that comes on the market to evaluate it. I guess that makes me less of an Autopian than you.

Ive also been registered here for quite a long time, longer than you actually.. so I don't really see what your point is. Its not like I registered and instantly started posting about a new product, like Ive seen others do here recently (Which seems to have gone unnoticed despite the fact that TropiCare got run into the ground when people did that).

So.. again.. whats your point?

Ive used it on some real beaters just to see what it would do and it definetly does have cleaners/polishing agents in it.

According to the testimonials on their website ( http://www.protectall.com/ ), ProtectAll's All Surface Care is a good, easy to use one-step, for both exterior and interior.

ProtectAll makes the Autopian-esteemed QEW, which in my book gives them a lot of credibility. They say that All Surface Care is their best product (I've emailed them).

I've talked to two people who use it (local, not ProtectAll Employees), and both said that once I've tried it, I'll use it forever (of course, they didn't realize they were talking to a fledgling Autopian! :) ).

Anyway, I'm planning on giving it a try (though not as a one-step on the exterior).
