Bentley Flying Spur Speed New Car Detail

Recently completed, this new Bentley had a few defects such as sand scratches and shrink in the rear passenger door.



Note the reflection of the halogen bulbs in the finish, there is no clarity at all.

Upper corner of the same door also shows shrink in the finish.

I would sand with 4000 grit Abranet 4" discs to "Open" up the paint once again and match the finish to the panels next to this door.

Besides the shrink and sand scratches, there was more evidence at the scene of the crime(Left over compound).

Now that the passenger door was corrected, it was time to move on and complete the rest of the vehicle including the engine bay.

Engine bay was not bad at all, but still needed refinement to look "As new".

Utilized the Collonite 915 again on this vehicle, this wax flies under the radar imo.

Even though the car was new, these grills are always hard water spotted and challenging to make right.

The factory shouldn't wet sand the car if they can't finish it out properly. I mean, that is the tote the note detailer work.
 
Every Bentley I've ever worked on has had a water spotted grille. What do you think causes this Bob?

Beautiful result! Bob, what is the difference between 915 and 845? I've been using 845 since 1973 (that's not a typo). Yet to find anything as durable and easy to apply as 845.

It is a small difference, but the 915 has a deeper glow even on Silver or any light colored metallic paints. I have seen 6 months of beading from 915 .......... and at $35.00 dollars or less it performs just as well as high end waxes.
 
I really liked that you didn't stripe the carpets, you left them looking like they'd never been touched. In fact, that's the way the whole car looked and the look I go for. Never been touched, just made that way.

I think the main difference between the two in the higher amount of pure carnauba in 915. It's also a bit more difficult to apply and remove being a paste, but it's really worth it IMO.

You would think the water spots would be in the clear too. Did this car your worked on have hard water spots in the clear?

Whenever I take pictures in the garage they always come out dark ( event tho i have good lighting)
