Belts.

The title explains it all. Belts scratch cars. What are my options? I am currently visiting my childhood with a shoelace. Must say, it does a pretty good job too.

Lay off the sauce Pilgrim or don't post when yer three sheets to the wind and the other one flapping.

It won't eliminate the problem completely, nothing beyond not touching the paint will. That said a mechanics belt will do much better than a metal buckle. These use a leather buckle.

Tons of places. Dickies sells them. I'll bet you could find them on Amazon. They're about $20. I wore one for years. They last like any other quality leather belt.

One last thought on this. You might be thinking about a nylon one. In my opinion the leather would be more kind to the paint than a nylon belt.
