I've been a long time lurker here - and last year I finally decided to get elbows deep into fixing up my paint. Had some pretty huge holograms all over (2003 Nighthawk Black) from a half-assed detail after body work.
I ordered the UDM kit from here during the beta testing, and used the DAS swirlbuster pad + ultima paint prep plus. I was in a garage on a rainy day - only had one halogen light so I couldnt see the progress really well.
I didnt have a whole lot of time, so i decided only to do the hood. I put a few drops of the polish on the pad, applied at a slow speed, then turned it up a bit and worked it in. Im not sure if it was my technique or improper use of the UDM, but the next say, in the sun, i saw i did more harm than good. The exact path i took with the DAB, up and down in rows on the hood, were clearly drawn out in holorgrams/swirls. :nervous2: CRAP!
Should I use a different pad or polish? I have no idea how to fix this
