beginner on pc w/dacp?

i don't believe its in the paint however i could try a section thats original. and see how it works out. anyone else on this?

What kind of towel are you using? I know this sounds crazy but I just detailed my father's F150, and it looked perfect until I got it out in the sunlight and noticed what looked liked holograms or buffer scuffs on different parts of the truck. After doing some testing, I have come to the conclusion that it was my mf ww towels that were leaving these streaks behind.

i bought one dozen package at costco, for 8 bucks there great! i use them for everything. i washed all of them with dreft! cool water and no softners on air dry in the dryer they come out great.

i believe it was the 50/50 mix that was leaving marks after i wiped. i touched the surface with my finger and it smeared, i wasn't removing all the left over. i went over it with another dry one and boom the finish looked fine!

i think i am just an anal ******* somethimes. i think the dacp and speed glase did a great job! i was looking at finish under a 500w and saying wow i can't believe this, let me give it another shot!, well i came to my senses, and pulled the car out in the sun, it looked great! no swirls no scatches, except for those few (a little to deep to remove) you could not even notice. it looked 100 times better. that 500w halogen had me going absolutely bananas.

Try fogging the surface with your breath before the final wipe. I find this works well with almost every product from compounds to sealants.

Accumulator, jdookie and everyone else, thanks for the advice and tips, i really think the car is going to look nice., i just need the time, or i'm going to have to settle for less.

i tested two areas of the hood, both sections were in very comparible conditions, after four psses with the dacp and cutting pad, and a 3 shots with the 80 and polishing pad, i noticed the surface was pretty nice!

the second area i tested with only two passes dacp, and two 80.

i then inspected, i found out that several passes did the job well, and two still left some fine scratches behind.

for some reason i beleive this could be done more quickly. the pc isn't very aggresive, i think i am going to experiment with a little presure on the machine, before i was applying very little presure, i would guess somewere around 7-12lbs. any suggestions? besides buying a rotary and taking a trip the the junkyard?

I try to polish without pushing down on the machine very much, although some members routinely do. This comes only from the manufacturer's instruction that downward pressure not be used.

Because of the lack of heat/friction, a PC isn't that aggressive, but remember this is what makes it so safe and easy to use. Usually if you want faster results you'll have to compensate with stronger pads/products, and maybe doing it in more steps than you would with something like a rotary for example.

just tested another part on the trunk today, i found that 2 to 3 passes dacp and 2 passes #80, is all i need to complete certain areas. i am finally getting the hang of this stuff and i am amazed. my friend came buy today and was like what the hell are you doing? i said" watch this, see all those fine scatches" (from up close) he responds "yeah wow" come here now, see all those swirls "yeah, i have the same thing on my car". ok, watch this i did two passes with dacp and one with 80, i said "take a look know, see anything, he was in shock, wow what polish are you using, i said it was my grandfathers shoe polish. but he saw the bottle, there was no hiding it, DACP. i might think about switching bottles, and going top secret. i feel like i am cheating.
