beginner - need product advice for heavy oxidation

Hi! i'm pretty new here but I've been trying to read up on all I can lately.

I'm planning on buying a PC asap, but there are so many different pads, compounds, polishes, and waxes I really need some direction. I guess my first "detail" would be my brothers camry (in the pictures) and he has some heavy oxidation (or at least thats what i think it is). As far as I understand, a rotary should be used but a PC can do the job? What products would you recommend? The more information the better!

As for the car its pretty bad. I don't think he washes it and just lets things get caked on. Thats the only real spot with oxidation so I figured whatever works with that should fix up the rest of the paint.

Also, I drive a black car and it has a good amount of swirls and scratches. I want to get them out and maintain my car like all of you do. Would you recommend different products for my car? If so, which ones? I want a deep glossy shine and i'm willing to do the work to keep it that way.

last question! for being a first timer with the pc, what kind of results should I expect? I think I've read all I can, but I'm really nervous about it. I've read that its hard to really damage the paint with a pc, but I have no experience so I don't know how true that is for myself. I was really hoping if there was someone in my area (southern ca) that could show me the ropes after I get my order in. That would be awesome!

Thanks for your help everyone. This place has been full of information and really a great and friendly forum. keep it up.

Andrew

Wow bros car is in baaaddd shape io dont even know if a rotary woudl take that out haha. As for your car dude, just test out different products you know. For begginers eagle1 nanowax is a great product and really easy to use, as for swirls without a pc, megs scratch x? Just keep tryin new stuff and testin the water. A lot of guys on this site know pretty much everything to know on car detailing, so just pay attention haha.

clear coat failure huh? well I guess that changes things doesn't it? haha. How do you tell the difference? Is the only option for that a repaint?

besides the fact that my brothers car sounds like toast, i'd still really appreciate suggestions for my car, haha. I guess I need some pictures though, I'll try to get those up asap.
