Beer Time

Well it's beer time again. What are you having today on Thanksgiving? I'm having a Stone 9th Anniversary Ale. Man this is some tasty stuff, sweet with a nice hoppy bite to it, it's suppose to be a American Strong Ale, but I think it's more of an Imperial IPA, very hoppy with a 7.8 ABV. Stone makes some awesome brews, have not had a bad one yet. So anything special today?

Pre dinner beer of course. Dogfishhead Shelter Pale Ale.... Cheers :grinno:

Missed out on some 120 min. IPA by a couple of days, pissed me off. Still have a bottle of 90 min. and some Raison D' Entre and some D' Extra on the way. Almost forgot still have a bottle of World Wide Stout. A friend is sending me some Victory Hop Wallop that I also missed out on. Got some bad timing, LOL

I have a few different brew's from Mendocino that are sitting in the closet. So far I've only had the Red Tail, which is very nice.

Having a AleSmith YuleSmith tonite, it's a DIPA (Double IPA). Awesome brew hoppy with a sweet, dry aftertaste. My first DIPA. Another awesome brew from AleSmith, one of my favorite brewery's.

as I'm a huge fan of ipa, thanks for the suggestion.

tonight I'll be sporting a redhook ipa.

the plane on the conveyer thread drove me to it.

Cool, I had a couple of Redhook's IPA a few days ago, try the AleSmith, I think you will like it.

uh oh. I'm not finding alesmith at either of my favorite resources. where might you be sourcing this?

I broke out some really nice holiday beers for the weekend. Thanksgiving Day progressed from Great Lakes Christmas Ale for the initial mingling, to Goose Island Christmas Ale with the meal, and Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald Porter with dessert. Friday and Saturday saw the demise of six or ten bottles of Sierra Nevada Celebration Ale--and man, were they good. Sunday the other side of the family came over for a "second" Thanksgiving. To celebrate, I popped open a bomber of this year's Double B@st@rd and again accompanied dessert with Edmund Fitzgerald--a wonderful end to the weekend.

Glad to see some real beer lovers here. Cheers!

Nice choices there, buddy. I missed out on some Double *******, but a friend is trying to find some for me. Same friend sent me a couple of Victory Hop Wallops today, also a Offshore IPA. Looking forward to tasting them real soon.

The DB is apparently scarce this year. My usual store (a big chain up here) has been telling me all month that they were getting some--but none of the 3 stores has, yet. I just happened across it at Whole Foods, where they had about 2 cases worth--and little to no apparent interest. It's a bit of a hike, but I might be able to get back out there this weekend if your friend isn't able to find any for you.

I've been thinking about getting into trading, but haven't, yet. I do quite a bit of traveling, so I sometimes get to try stuff from out of my region, but Victory beers have escaped me to this point. Hop Wallop sounds great--I hope to find some up in Jersey, over Christmas. In fact, there are a bunch of east coast beers I'm looking forward to trying over the holidays.

Having a couple of Victory Hop Wallopps tonight. Very nice, this is a DIPA at 8.5% ABV, hoppy, piney, with some citrusy scents. A nice bitter aftertaste, totally awesome brew from Victory.

Having a couple of Mendocino's Eye of the Hawk today. It's an American Strong Ale, cool looking label though.
