Beer Time

Today a very nice/tasty barleywine, clocks in at 12.5% ABV, malty, hoppy, nice dose of caramel, Three Floyd's Behemoth Blonde.

For my second brew of the night, a very nice barleywine from Avery, a Samael's, 14.5% ABV, Oaked Aged, very tasty, nice warming feel.

I'm going to start giving some of the local beers in my area a shot. DC's not the greatest place for it, but I've seen a few at the store.

Might not be any breweries in DC, but you do have some brewpubs. Checkout the District Chophouse & Brewery's Bourbon Stout or Capitol City Brewing Imperial IPA, both should be pretty tasty. Also, go to the liquor stores, if your not familar with some out of state breweries, list them here, we should be able to help you out. Cheers!

Tonight, a ReaperAle Sleighor DIPA, very tasty. Too bad this brewery is closing it's doors. If you can find any of there brew's, grab them, they are pretty nice.

Thanks! I've been to Cap City and I'm not too big a fan of their beer. They had one a few years ago that I liked, but they stopped brewing it. The chophouse has some great beer imo. I've had their sampler and a few were outstanding.

My second brew for the night is a very delicious English Barleywine, a Duck-Rabbit Barleywine, lots of cherries, and malt. Really like this one, totally different barleywine than I've every had, highly recommended.

ohh i like this thread. today i started with dog fish head 60 minute IPA then went onto the 120minute IPA. if you haven't had the 120 minute its great 20%ABV but all you taste is hops hops and more hops so good.

I have really enjoyed the 60 and 90, but still haven't tried the 120 for some reason... so many beers, so little time. :)

Today I switched gears... instead of my usual DIPA, Barleywine, Imperial Stout or what-not, I had several Full Sail Session Lagers. Light, easy drinking, and perfect after a long day of replacing a whole bunch of rotten boards on my front porch. Session's a very good "hot weather, working all day in the yard and i really need a beer" beer. (not that it was really all that hot today, but I'm tired, anyway :) )
