Beer Time

red hook ipa for me. again. but we've had a cab with dinner and we're talking john daniels at this point tonight.

by the way, brunch on the house was the prize in the rogue brewery trivia contest. it was close to a decade and a half ago, but I think I remember a b&b was involved. didn't accept that part as I had a terrific apartment on a seaside cliff that weekend.

Friday night having a couple of FireStone Pale Ale, the brewery is in CA. This pale ale is pretty tasty, makes a great brew for hot summer days.

Today doing some grilling (steak, dogs, brats) and having a mighty fine DIPA from Speakeasy (Double Daddy). Clocks in a 9.5% ABV, pretty hoppy and a nice sweet/tangy taste. Also watching the Red Sox X 2.

Tonight having a couple of Avery Old Jubilation, it's a winter warmer, but is pretty tasty on a 90 degree night. LOL Anyone else having any brew tonight?

I had some domestic swill last night. I hate myself for drinking cheap beer sometimes knowing that I could be having a Guinness or something I've never tried before.

I will never buy crap beer again if I can help it. I might drink it for free, but my money will never see it. The stuff just plain is nasty, watery, no body, flavor, nothing.

Couldn't agree with you more! I absolutely hate when people talk their favorite beers and they cite things like Miller Lite or Budweiser.

yesterday night:

-Sam Smiths Oatmeal Stout

-Dogfish Head India Brown Ale

-Bells Expedition Stout

-Sly Fox Ichor (Quaddrupel)

-Stone Imperial Russian Stout

I like Fuller's and Young's brews from England.

I love Fuller's beer and have toured Griffin Brewery when I was in England. One of the higlights of our trip. After the tour was over I think we tasted just about EVERY brew they make. Seasonals, regulars, everything fresh out of the brewery in their underground tasting room. Sublime experience.

Samuel Smith (ANY of it) is exceptional brew. I would like to go back to England and tour that brewery.

You just have to be careful how you store it being that it's in a clear bottle.

Cool, love the Fuller's ESB and London Pride, I have a few Young's, but have not gotten to them, lol I'm sure I will though.

Store it!? I drink it too fast when I actually have it in my possession.

John - Have you had any Young's stuff before? I also think that they make some really great brews. Oatmeal Stout is very good, and so is the Double Chocolate Stout.

Tasty,

No, I have the following Young's brews, but have not gotten to them.

Young’s Double Chocolate

Young’s Oatmeal Stout

Young’s Special London Ale

Tonight we're drinking Bass Pale Ale. 5.0%, very drinkable. I was expecting more though.

Whoa, so you got into the craft beer finally, good for you? What else have you tried out?

Tonight I'm trying out some Coopers Best Extra Stout, not bad, way better than a Guiness.
