If you ask me, the BEST drying towel I have tried is exceldetail's Monterey WW. It is the softest WW I have. It is thin, but looks are deceptive.... it absorbs water like a drunk in hangover day.....

Pakshak comes in second, WCD WW third as far as WW. Neither of them are as soft as the monterey, and neither of them absorb water as fast. However, for RAW drying power the blue walmart microtex is tought to beat. Very plush, and with that sheer size it should better absorb a lot of water. A quick pass with the microtex oo absorb the bulk of water, then finish with a WW and you got a dry car in a few minutes.

Is that walmart towel a waffle?

No. It is a regular microfiber towel, short nap in one side, long on the other. Very soft and plus. I think the main reason it absorbs water so well is its sheer size (aprox 42 x 26) It is at least 3 times as heavy as the excel WW. The microtex absorbs a lot, but once it gets saturated it will do no more.

Personally, even with the aid of a water blade I found than No towel can dry even a subcompact car.... so I always use 2. The microtex to absorb the bulk, then any WW to finish. I tried the opposite approach and it works too, but I found that the least water you have for the final pass the better. Using the microtex first, even without the water blade I can still manage to use 2 towels per car.

i agree with alexruiz. the walmart microtex blue mf drying towel is great (i've mentioned this before on some other thread(s), it absorbs alot of water and you will not have to wring it out once (at least i haven't) and not to mention it will not marr/scratch your finish (very plush with two different naps on both sides), and for around $7 you can't beat it. the thick/plushness ranks up their with some of the best mf's out there. *literally a minute ago* i just received my package from pinnacle and ordered the new green waffle weave towels (i believe they replaced the purple ones) that came out and can't wait to try it out! :bigups here's a link to them ----> http://pinnaclewax.com/waffle-weave-towel.html
