Been awhile - lots of cars, too many pics (Vantage's, 911's, 335's oh my)

100K+ cars must activate some sort of tracking system in the female subconscious, I feel it doesn't matter what you look like because when they look at you all they see is dollar signs, lol. AWESOME details, that Vantage looked amazing in blue.

Good to see you back:ca . Wow some beautiful cars you get to detail, I'm really jealous. Very few cars like that where I live  . Anyways fantastic work as always, quite the turnaround on that Jetta. What size of pads do you use on your rotary? I've just started using 6.5" pads on my rotary, seem to have better control with them.

01bluecls - yep, whole car minus a few spots near edges. It needed it, I have no idea what the previous owner did to it but it was in really poor shape. As you can see from the pics there was still some deep marring left, but I didn't want to remove any more paint.

Scott - thanks; I am really loving AJT over just about every sealant, especially Zaino. It adds this slickness that is hard to quantify but is really nice.

zet & TeutonicCarFan - totally. I was standing with the Vantage and the owner and some lady, really pretty professional type walks by and says "nice car - are you married?", he said he gets it all the time, hah! Oddly, the 911 is, imo, a better car - but the Vantage just attracted so much attention, I guess because they are more rare.

Fobia - should have mentioned that. 2k and 3k unigrit over some need scratches and touchup blobs.

DSVWGLI - I've always used 6.5" pads. No expensive cars on Vancouver Island? Come on! :)

Agreed, I like the 996TT better than the Vantage, as I have heard because I have not driven, as a driver's car. You get a much more sporty drive from the TT, but the Vantage's advantage is its absolutely breathless curves and styling, of course those headlights at night must be AMAZING and I would prob get the Vantage because its rarity.

Back to the cars

What did you use on the moldings between the front and rear doors on the G35?

I've seen only one 360 Modena here in Nanaimo, although there could be one or two exotics down in Victoria. The odd Porsche is around and quite a few BMW's but the exotics are very rare indeed. What backing plate do you use?

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I use this one: Velcro Pad Holder 6"

I like it, but it's pretty much the only one I've used in years so who knows! :D

Hey no problem, looks like a great BP. I think I might get a 6" BP as well because the 4 3/4" seems a little small with the 6.5" pads.

You guys are too nice.

The Aston owner brought the car by again today - man that thing as some of the softest paint I've ever encountered. It's been 5 days and he already had some marring near the driver side handle where he opens it, as well as the rear decklid where someone brushed some dust off - incredibly 106ff/black removed all marring. I wonder if they even bake the paint?

I have the same problem with a customer's black Porsche Cayenne. Even washing it with a super soft MF covered foam pad and Monster Fluffy MFs, I still get occasional marring when I wash it. Even the soft paint on my car doesn't give me that kind of a problem.
