Been a while for me! A few cars! 56K no way

GOT PREP?
First up is a 06 (I think) Porsche that was recently purchased. The owner wanted the paint to be corrected, the interior cleaned, and quite a few areas covered with paint protection film.

Here’s what I was dealing with:

The car had mainly minor marring with a few deeper RIDS here and therethere was also quite a bit of water-spotting.

We used the following to correct the paint:

Meguiars #105 via flex, speed 6/orange pad

Menzerna PO106FF G100 speed 6/LC LP white pad

Meguiars #16

OCW

We also used ONR to wash the car after #105

We removed the rear taillights in order to tuck in the paint protection filmfull rear was protected!

Here is a shot of the front fenderwe covered the full front fenders in clear bra!

Front bumper, lights, fogs, and 22 up the hood are all covered in paint protection film,

This BMW needed full correction inside and out—sorry no befores, but it was *hammered*!

We used 105/rotary wool

SIP rotary green pad/1500

FPII G110 spped 6/LC LP white

M21

We sued ONR in between steps

Here is a black Mustang GT that we did—really cool car. The owner has basically converted the exterior to look like a GT500.

We used 105/flex/orange pad

106FF G110/spped 6/white LC LP pad

M21

Again we used ONR between steps

This 09 Max was actually only washed once by the dealer and they did a pretty good job. We just cleaned up the minor marring (believe it or not) with PO106FF and sealed it with Collinite 476s.

Yikes, that PPF job on the Porsche must've been even tougher than the one you did for me!

The M105/Flex combo works well, huh? And I see you're still using 476S :D Is the 106FF behaving better these days?

You know you're doing something right when a customer asks for a sticker, huh?

It was *really* tough! What's worse is that he stopped by two days ago--someone backed into it and I have redo the job! :hairpull I really don't mind though--it was a unique challenge. :D

The M105 FLEX combo has been amazing for me/us. Sure it takes a little longer, but no messy cleanup and very little taping--not to mention some of the inherent dangers of using a rotary are all but gone. I am not saying that the rotary isn't the tool of choice when you are dealing with serious paint correction, but the flex is certainly a tool that has a place in our arsenal. I can pretty much turn anyone loose on the flex with a little training and they can acheive fantastic results without the danger of burning paint(not that it can't happen with the flex, but..).

About the 476s--the same can!!! I am so glad that you turned me on to that!

I just do IPA wipedpwns with the PO106FF, we also wash the paint with a strong solution of ONR after the IPA. I still like the product, but plan on switching to FPII after my last 10oz is gone. :D Honestly, I hope that M205 will put an end to all of it--locally available, cheaper, etc. I can't see why Meguiars couldn't do it, 105 finishes so well that a final polish based upon the same technology just has to be good. :D

lostdaytomorrow, yep it's 35% on the windshield--real common around here. :D

zxpwr, nope it's factory paint. It's probably just the angle/clouds. :nixweiss
