Barrett Jackson Swirl-o-Rama

Did anyone else see the Chip Foose cars that came across the block on Saturday night? Man, the paint just glowed even from across the room. Up close I couldn't detect any marring at all, just the deepest, wettest paint I think I've ever seen.

How much did they sold that Shelby 427? Did I heard was 5 Million?:soscared: :soscared: :soscared: :soscared:

I was there Friday for a few hours (my first time), which was probably the worst day to go. It rained all day and was pretty cold for Phoenix weather - in the 50's. The pre-staging area is just outside the main tent. The cars get a quick wipe down with a MF and maybe some QD before they go on. This was a particularly bad year as there were a few leaks in the tent, and water was dripping down, sometimes right on the cars! Definitely swirls-a-plenty on many of the cars, though. Some of the owners will keep a little bucket with dirty rags and Meg's QD in the trunk. They could ALL use a little Autopia, though.

They should rename that to, "Pipe-Dream Auto Auction".

Anyone here ever been to a real car auction? I mean a dealer only like Manheim or Adessa?

Totally night and day comparisons.

This comment is a little late...but you can not compare a dealer (everyday driver) auction and Barrett Jackson. They are not even close. BJ sets the standard for the custom/classic. rare car market every year. The prices may be insane but a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay.

Man I was watching last night, that Cobra Super Snake that went for 5M, I cringed when I saw the guy dry dusting it. :D

I don't know how it looked at BJ but I saw the car on a local TV show a couple months ago and it looked like it had been washed with steel wool. I'm sure they cleaned it up some.
