I would suggest you switch to Boveda packs in your humidor. No fiddling with distilled water, throw a pack in and don't worry about it.

Think that's what he's doing. Those used to be mine, I didn't take them after my divorce/move, so my son inherited em. He is using some sort of gel bottle, beats the Davidoff humidifiers.

So I think I'm gonna let him keep one, and me take one.... :D
 
I'd recommend having two Hygrometers in your humidor. I lost a nice batch of cigars once when my Hygrometer wasn't doing it's job. After that I switched to having both one digital and one standard gauge.

Most of the problem was lack of attention during divorce, but yeah, that is best.
 
I use a Le Veil humidifier. I still keep another hygrometer in there to make sure the one on the Le Veil is working properly. The Boveda pack is the way to go though if you do not go electric. I keep a small Boveda pack in my Herfador. Once you can start feeling it crystallize inside, toss it and get a new one before it gets hard.

Cigars... maybe I should have bought some cigars for my birthday present to myself instead of detailing stuff. It's been a long time since I had a good one.

Maybe I'm missing something about how you get invited to the camp and all, but how did Ron get an invite and not a couple of those other yahoos in that thread? Are "pros" exempt or something?

Was supposed to be a car show..... Funny, but as soon as he finished packing up, sun came out and about 15 cars showed
