Well boys spent a few day's in Maranello for a little "Quality Control" ...lol! I got to see where it all happens! Met the finish men in the paint department. Very interesting. Italian GP race was in town so it was really busy. Got to see some testing during my second days visit! I have to say the most impressive operation I have ever seen! Now I know way it costs in excess of 800 million to run a F1 team!! 2 cars!!

Did you thank them for keeping Jesse in business with their exports to Hungary? :grinno:

No Bob sorry, during testing no camera's are allowed! They are very nervious about what you are seeing! I wasn't about to screw myself by pissing anyone off! I did find out after the fact that I could have took pictures of the 458 my customer accepted?? My wife did try to take some pictures of me during a test drive with one of there test drivers!! All we got is a red blur....lol!! I have never been so impressed in my life, I could have spent a week in the wind tunnel alone! TLMitchell after what I saw we all got nothing to worry about!! Jesse and Bob and the rest of us are going to have new car preps for a long time!! All inspections are done with lots of flourescent light, almost to much! But no sun light inspections at all!! Sanding marks were very hard to see! Also they stress clenliness over and over (pressurized rooms) But yet when it comes to buffing the pad is wool and is used over and over again? And set down on the pad on top of it!! I did find out that there limits for Ceramic clear is roughly a 10x10 inch area with defects is cause for complete rejection. Which means the body is rejected and it comes off the line and has to stripped and repainted!! From what the QA department guys told me this happens about every 60 cars! But if there are small defects on every panel of the car they are not cause for complete rejection! If you ever get the chance to go, don't pass it up!! The car factory alone is worth it! The racing side is hard to get into. If I didn't have a friend that worked for the team I would have never seen any of it!!
