Azure Blue Mustang Mach I on my BD

So I did this detail on my 21st birthday (Friday, the 26th) for one of my best customers. I was supplied with hot water for QEW and carpet cleaning, music, power, and great company whenever needed. The owner (Craigster) found me on Autopia and I did his Malibu Maxx last month.

Anyways, just did the exterior (interior on his nephew's 2004 GT, but no pics) for the Mach. The paint on Ford's just plain sucks. I thought it might've just been my dad's Cobra, but aside from the overabundance of orange peel, the paint is VERY chip sensitive. The horizontal surfaces pit and etch very easily, but the swirls were a pain to remove. Anyways, final processes were:

-QEW w/hot water :)

-Poorboy's Clay

-Menzerna PO106 via rotary and LC polishing pad @1500-1700rpm

-Poorboy's EX by hand

-BnB on tires and plastic trim

-HD in wells

Your not kiddin about ford's paint. It sucks. Everything you said in your post is true. If they are a pain w/ your rotory, just think what I go through w/ my PC.

Nice work Sean as always:up

GSRstilez, when doing mobile detailing does the open sun interfere with your product choice and techniques? Also, do you think you could have got those results with a PC?

Terrific as always Sean. EX looks great on blue.

Mtodde and I just did his silver Solara with the new EX-P+. Photos forthcoming...

well i'm not sean but i know that my pc doesn't not compare to my rotary. i have the Porter Cable 7424 and the Makita 9227c and just plain and simple, the rotary gets much more heat built up and can remove much more defects but the PC can provide descent results. the Poorboy's SSR polishes can be used in direct sun too which is what i use when i have to work in the sun.
