It is sad to see such a beautiful machine end like this...

This is a serious matter when it comes to security with this exotic cars.

Can you imagine your self servicing one of this exotics and later receiving a call

from the owner because the car burst up in flames.

How did it catch on fire??? I remember when ferrari had a recall on the italia because some kinda adhesive or something near the engine would catch on fire.

Ouch...

Dont know about you guys, but I'm thinking with a little "Blackfire" it will look good as new?.

Ok .... I'm no standup comedian.

From what I've read no one still knows what happened, but the two people testing driving it got out just fine.

"The driver was taking the Lamborghini out for a test drive when the car suddenly caught on fire. It’s unclear what caused the fire but according to the initial report the “left rear wheel” was engulfed in flames.

According to experts that means the fire probably wasn’t collision related. Videos and photos taken at the scene of the accident appear to confirm that no other vehicles were involved in the Lamborghini’s fire.

Lamborghini said that they aren’t sure what caused the fire but they are “trying to figure out what happened.”

Sounds like maybe a sticky brake caliper? Not sure how that would manifest itself with carbon ceramic brakes, but a fire seems plausible....

I do wonder also, if it was something with the brake system. Don't know much about Aventador's braking system, but know some about ZL1's :).

I wonder if some how maybe during a mechanic routine a brake line wasn't tightened or something and leaked fluid out and cause the fire.

If memory serves me right, the Gallardo used to have a problem catching fire when it first came out as well.

Sadly, now that I think about it, Lamborghinis have a history of going up in flames on many of their models. This started way back with the Miura which would shoot petrol on the exhaust manifold.

Glad to see both drivers got out okay and in time.
