Autopia visits the Mobile Tech Expo

Todd@RUPES

Just a regular guy
The annual Mobile Tech Expo was held in my backyard this year. With Autogeek representing the PBMG family, I thought it would be nice to speed a few days with the "Geeker's" and check out whats new in the world of mobile detailing and PDR (paintless dent repair).

David Pedre from Meguiar's was on hand representing one of the oldest brands in car care...

Renny Doyle also had a booth. Anybody looking to start a mobile detailing business and make money should check out his book @ Autopia-CarCare.com : How to Start a Home-based Car Detailing Business

While I forgot the name of this cheeky fellow, he was always guarding a door, telling me I was going the wrong place.

Leather Master's was on hand with their premium line of leather care products.

The convention center featured make-shift rows of booths, mostly dedicated to the latest in headlight restoration and paintless dent repair. Each isle was packed with people.

In the background you can see the Autogeek Tent. This is wear the crowds made there way to learn about proper auto care from Nick, Ray, Meghan, and Mike.

There were demo's galore. Pulling dents is an art form and watching these artists make a wavy panel straight is akin to watching an expert detailer jewel black paint.

Crowds everywhere! I at this point I could smell the car care and knew I was getting closer to the Autogeek booth.

Personally I think PDR tools look dangerous (maybe it was the guy standing in front of the tools, who keep giving me an evil eye).

Home free! Autogeek had a great booth with amazing talent behind it. It was great to see some friends.

There was also a lot of free candy (everywhere). It felt like Halloween. So much I thought that the guy polishing the hood was somebody dressed up to be Mike Phillips.

Thanks for posting the pics. I subscribe to Detailers Digest and Mobile Tech News but the likelihood of me making it to the convention are not likely.
