Autopia V4, Phase I Upgrade Complete

According to this thread, there are 4 pages worth of posts. I can read pages 1, 2, 3, but when I click on page 4, it keeps taking me back to page 3.

EDIT: that's odd, because right after I posted, it's showing that my post was the first post of page 4 of this thread, but before I even posted anything there were already 4 pages??

DavidB,

I really appreciate all the hard work you do for this site, relax and have a beer.

Cheers!

Thanks, John... If I relax and have a beer, I will fall a sleep!!!

:bigups

love it! this site just keeps getting better, and better! :up

i can't thank you enough DavidB for allowing us to be part of this awesome site! :)

For those of you who mentioned that the Reviews page was not working, I did a quick fix to update the configuration and fix a bug in the style sheet. I will be putting a lot of effort into the reviews database in the next couple of weeks.

Ditto what JS said,

"I really appreciate all the hard work you do for this site, relax and have a beer."

I would simply add to that, WSWLYLAL

Congrat's on the mammoth upgrades.

Well done. Bravo!

i liked the last version better... I guess I will just need to get used to this one. Just my .02

Oh and ya David you do an awesome Job!

While I realize the new layout and skin may not be to everyone's liking, it is important to know that the old skin was taken as far as it could go. It was not possible to continue to upgrade the software with what we had. So, the new skin was completely necessary.

While I am not completely satisfied myself, it was far enough along that I was willing to make the jump. I will continue to make adjustments until bugs are fixed and it feels like home again.

1. Is there going to be a way to see all new classifieds like you can with the forums? With Trading Post, they showed up under "New Posts". It would be nice to view these in a similar manner.

2. There has been a bug in Autopia (still there now) that the "View First Unread" link does not work correctly if the thread spans more than 1 page. It works at other vBulletin sites.

Al,

#1 is a good idea. Let me work on it.

#2 I'm having a hard time reproducing. It works for me! It's on my list.

I can post sometimes. However, when I hit submit, it times out.

I thought it was a browser issue (firefox) but under IE, it still does the same thing when you click submit.

This is minor, but on a multi-page thread, when you look at the box at the top and bottom of the page which shows the number of pages and which one you're on, the current page isn't bold (enough?) anymore to easily see which page you are on. I know it now actually says to the left of that which page you're on, but I always found it easier to just look for the bold number and click on either side of it depending on whether you want to go forward or back. This applies within threads and also when you list threads.

:( Not for me, unfortunately. The "read first unread" feature only worked sometimes for me, and that's still the case.

Off to clear cookies, clear cache, sacrifice goat, light incense, etc. ... maybe something will heal it.

Well, it was short lived for me. Back to the old way of taking me to the first post. I wonder why it worked for awhile and then stopped.

I had to flush my browser cookies (FF) to get it to work consistently.

David, I'm going to echo the "font too small" comment. It's really small.

I read your previous comment about using the + key...that didn't do anything. Any other strategies for increasing the size?

Thanks.

For #2, I have my options to show 36 messages per screen. I wonder if a setting like that would cause the confusion in the code. For me, it seems like Autopia has lost the pointer since it autopia thinks it is looking for it (get reading autopia.org in the status bar) before jumping down to the first message in the thread rather than the last unread message.
