Autopia Opens The Debate

Nice move. Along with a few others, I didnt know I had been breaking the rules for

some time now. :D

I think the debate was the rules were not equally applied.

I think the debate was that the rules were only applied when it worked to favor a certain person's business advantage.

I do not know the specifics but we agree the rules were not evenly applied.

ILBABIG....

If you give a "somewhat bad" review is fine as long as you are honest, BUT you work for another compeeting distibutor, your A$$ should be gone. And stay gone.

DB was more than fair.

If 3D allows Autopia to be an open forum and not a sponsor only hype machine I think the reputation may be able to be restored. Many good detailers have been banned over the last few years that Autopia has lost what it once was-a great place to get advice from people who really knew what they were talking about.

I'd like to see everyone that was banned given the opportunity to come back. I know there are some that would probably last all of 3 days before they get banned again, but there are some real decent folks that got banned and ought to get that second chance. You have to take the good with the bad. So, I guess we wait and see what will happen.

I totally agree and think this would be a great idea:

Maybe you should read what Todd has posted on this site in regards to DB banning him or read what other former moderators have posted elsewhere before defending him so strongly.

On a personal note, one time I questioned whether something that DB did was ethical. Instead of replying as why his actions were ethical he simply PM'd me and said that if I ever questioned his ethics again he would ban me and that he didn't have to put up with someone questioning his ethics on his site. IMO that wasn't very ethical on his part. Nuff said. Draw your own conclusions.

Ho hum-just another day at the office. I think forums are to let folks know what they think. Kind of like it is what it is. Talking about products is key to success. Having the knowledge to utilize those products is the difficult part. Just about every time I am on Autopia, there is a different product endorsed. I always keep an open mind. I do enjoy the forum. We cant change the world, I just go with the flow.

In life you cant worry about opinions as they are like AH---s, everybody has one! So I dont take things personally. I always LISTEN to opinions ....then do what I need to do ultimately. That always works for me. Ethically speaking, its always better to keep it ethical. A point can be made without an insult. That goes for anything in life. I base all my decisions on logic. Remember to always put yourself in the other guys shoes before using offensive measures. Paintxpert

I'm late to the party (years late), but I'll weigh in too...

Getting opinions from different USERS is the best way to make good decisions about products, services, and work processes. Freely discussing these opinions without fear of offending advertisers is the sign of a healthy forum. Good job!

Dan.

Seeking opinions about products and processes is all about why I joined years ago. It's a huge part of what makes Autopia what it is. There's nothing like getting great results on your car as a result of researching those opinions. :bigups
