AutoGeek's prices: Is my memory playing games on me?

Can somebody verify my sanity, please? I am checking today's prices for foam guns on AutoGeek and I see they are $60 for quart one, $70 for half a gallon one. Somehow I am under impression they used to be $50 and $60 respectively just recently.

Could you please tell me whether I am correct about perceived price hike or not?

I am asking because I would be really upset about just purchasing gift certificate lured by 25% off advertising just to find out that has been followed with 20% price hike.

Same here. Their prices have not changed. Alot will be going on sale tomorrow and today. They have and do not raise their prices to compensate for any other sale.

...you might be thinking of Danase that has the quart gun for less.

No, AG is the only place I was checking out foam guns at. I was not even aware Danase carries them.

I will be happy to find that is the case as I have just yesterday purchased $200 worth of their gift certificates.

So I could be remembering sale price? When the sale ended?

I think you're probably remembering the sale price. They have some things on their website which have been on sale so long I often wonder why they don't just change the price.

I just saw this Forums -> Foam Gun (now with video)

It seems 6 months ago they were $40 regular price and then went to $50 regular price. Now they are $60 regular price, $50 when on sale (and not all of them are on sale even though they are same product just different sticker). 50% price increase in 6 months and $10 difference depending which sticker is on?

Right now would be a pretty good time to get the foam wash gun from wolfgang. Their sale price is $49.99, they have a 25% discount on all of their pinnacle and wolfgang items, plus they have free shipping for orders over $75. This is the type of deal I got on mine last summer.

Free shipping over $75 applies to the pinnacle and wolfgang web sites, not on the autogeek site. However, the products are identical except for the logos on the soap bottle.

:D I'm on S2KI.com all the time. I know the guy that started the thread you cited. He posts here sometimes too.

He doesn't say that $40 was the regular price anywhere in the thread. He just states the price at the time was $40 and he used a 10% off coupon code. It definitely could have been on sale at that price.

It is also in the thread you cite that the price went up $10 when they added the logos to the solution bottle. I'm sure it costs Autogeek to put the logos on. So, they're passing on that cost to the consumer. It probably doesn't cost them $10 to put it on, but the logo makes it a unique product and they're entitled to charge more for that IMO.

I'm sure it costs them to put logo. We are not begging them to put cheesy logos though. $10 extra because bottle says Autogeek? It's free advertising for them, it should cost us nothing.

To some (not me) a "cheesy" logo is a desirable feature not a minus. Trust me if the logo on the bottle said Zaino and not DP there would be a 1,000 person long waiting list for the foam gun with the cheesy logo.

You are correct. However, we are not talking product with Zaino logo. Even if "established brand logo" was worth $10 to some, reseller's "house brand logo" (AutoGeek) shouldn't be an extra cost. That would be same as paying extra to Men's Warehouse for a house branded suit just as if they were Versace.

In any case I will buy foam gun somewhere else out of the principle. I don't pay someone to advertise their business.
