Autogeek PC Kit - Optimum Vs Poorboys

Ok, another quick question...since the car is new (but has swirling) do I really need the compound? I can just play with different pads right or should I get the op and the oc? The more I read about the ohc the more I think I don't need it...

what do you guys think of the pinnacle xmt stuff? I'm also a n00b to pc's and I was considering the xmt #2 and #1 for some swirling I have on my black car...Its the xmt series very "user friendly"?

I have the XMT polishes and they dust just like the poorboys, go with the Optimum

Well that's my thing, since I'm relatively new to detailing and going to be brand new to the PC I don't want to start mix and matching too many products (especially ones that get mixed results) because ill never truely know what works best until I test every single combo out...so I'd like to order a decent beginners kit for a decent price that I know works together before I get discouraged because my polish is so so or my sealant hazes, wax goes dead after a week or so meanwhile spending $500 in the process lol.

I'd like to start out with the basics and branch out over time after I see how each product works out but I'd like to start out with the kit that gets better overall reviews.

That's exactly how I felt when starting out. I went with a PC and Meguiar's products. Although some may prefer boutique brands, the fact is Meguiar's has been around since 1901 and all their products are compatible.

Two 8006 pads (for abrasives), two 9006 pads for waxes and sealants, M83, M80, and Nxt Tech Wax and/or M21 sealant is a good start.

You may want to get a 7006 cutting pad and some micro fiber bonnets for wax removal. (The 7006 is stiffer than the 8006/9006 and works great with the bonnets.)

These products will take care of just about any situation that can be addressed with a PC. You can practice your technique knowing that if something isn't right, it's you and not one or more products.

Once you get the hang of it, then you can experiment with various brands and mix and match products. Without a baseline, you'll have no idea where you are going.

FANTASTIC FREEKIN POST.

that should be a sticky!!!

AFTER an entire week of asking MANY questions, agonozing over product lines, and ordering/canceling orders, re-ordering, i ended up going with the exact product line as above.... well, except i ordered the edge pads instead...
