Gidday,
I'm a total grommet when it comes to car detailing... anyways I finally finished setting up my detailing trailer this weekend and i'll be good to go come monday.:yay Hopefully I can make some doshies$$$$
In looking at grit guards I decided to rig my own. I'll upload some photos when i figure out how. So... I took a 12" round plastic piece from the bottom of a plant pot and trimmed the lip off and it fits snug upside down in a 5gal bucket. I then took a 7/8 paddle bit and drilled holes in it, and a 13/16 paddle bit hole in the center to place your finger in to retrieve the guard. No offense but the metric system is so much bloody easier!!
I then bought a square washable filter at lowes, placed the guard on top of it, traced and cut it out. Placed the filter inside the guard. :bigups Kinda simple and not taken anything away from detailcity.com cos i bought one of theirs aswell , but it cost me 5 big ones to make and took me 10mins to make:rockon . Just wondering if someone else has done something similar?
