AudiOn19s Intro:

All,
My name is Andy and I hail from Cloumbus Ohio. I'm a full time software developer and have also operated a "weekend warrior" detailing business for the last 15 years or so. Worked my way through college detailing cars for income and just never really let go of the profession.

I used to be rather active in that other detailing forum but found it to be a place of constant drama and haven't really been a contributin member in quite some time. I still read and try to learn every day but really don't care to give back over there any longer.

I've been reading TID dealing forum for a few months now trying to just get a feel for this place. It's actually refreshed my lust for detailing and seems to be a place of very limited drama where the best of the best can be found and accessed for knowledge. I hope to contribute around here as I can.

Other than detailing I have a passion for everything automotive....esp German cars. I enjoy tack days and performance driving and hope to start as a driving instructor with my local chapters next season. My current stable is as follows:

'99 Audi A4 Daily Driver - Brilliant Black / Onyx black. GIAC chip, suspenison, 19' Sportec Mono 10 wheels, etc, etc, etc. I've owned this car nearly 9 years now and it's been outstanding. It's showing it's age in some ways but never fails to start and run and look good in the process.

'02 BMW M3 - Alpine white / Imola red interior. Short highlights include coilovers, camber plates, upgraded suspsneion bushings, Active autowerk exhaust, pulleys, shifter, yada yada yada.

'04 MB E55 AMG - Wife's daily driver. Renntech Stage I power upgrades consisting of upgraded supercharger pulley, ECU tune and K&N filters. Also has Lowering Links for the suspension and 20" ForgeStar F10 wheels.

Andy,
Welcome to TID. This really is a great place, and some great people who contribute some real good tips and advice. You have some collection of cars. I love 'em all. Sorry to hear about your wife. I hope she is recovering and doing well.
I am looking forward to seeing some of your work.

Welcome Andy! Quite an impressive lineup of rides. Let me add my hope and prayers your wife is recovering and doing better. You can always find another Guards Red 996.

As Barry said, you've found and are now part of one of the best (if not THE best) detailing communities online. We're always here to help out the community with whatever a member may find challenging. We'd also love to see some of your work if you have the time.

I've been practicing my heel and toe downshifts going on 4 years now!!! I think my 07 BMW 335 coupe officially HATES me by now!

Welcome Andy, to TID !

Also join with the rest in offering up our faith and prayers on behalf of your Sweetheart and family, that she will be well.

Dont know where you have been, but this is one of the nicest places out there today. Alot of it has to do with the awesome owner and the world-class Team Jack has assembled to work for him and all of us.

Each one of these great people really go the extra mile to make sure we are happy, get our products, do awesome research and development, and keep their hands on the pulse of this Forum, so it always runs as you have seen it yourself.

We all try to help each other out; actually anyone who posts up a question can usually get several replies pretty quickly, and no one talks trash or misleads, etc..

You are blessed with some beautiful German beauties for sure !!! Congratulations on a beautiful stable of awesome rides !!!

I have only experienced many Bimmers over the years, but have detailed all the rest of those that I have not owned. And I also love them all !

Enjoy your stay, hope to see you around the Campus ! :)

All, thanks for the warm welcome and best wishes for my wife.

Last year was rough. Diagnosed in late May, double Mastectomy in June then 6 rounds of Chemo that finished up in Late October. She's a fighter though and we have both come through it stronger than ever.

Andy,
We are all here for you and your wife. Cancer research is something that we all need to donate to. They have really come a long way in the fight to knock out cancer of all types. My father in law died of lung cancer, and my mother has ovarian cancer, so I can imagine what you are going through.
I am sure she will get through this with your support.
Our thoughts are with you.

My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 09 and had single masectomy and pronounced cancer free as of June 10. It was a hellish experience but we're still together and doing great. I'm a Ford guy but those BMWs are sweet looking rides, welcome to TID.

Welcome Andy,
Always nice to have another enthusiast on board. Good to hear your wife is doing better; I can think of MUCH WORSE reasons to part ways with the beautiful 996.

p.s. I hold all of you responsible for my current BF Wet Diamond obsession. For years Zaino Z5 was my go-to sealant and I had no reasons to try anything else. I started messing around with other sealants this year and really wasn't blown away by any of them. Menzerna Power lock (or whatever it's called) was amoung the best I tried so I used it for awhile...but the wet diamond has blown me away. I like it so much I don't even top it with caranuba on my black car.

Durability is really the only unanswered question for me right now with the upcoming winter, but I'm loving this stuff so far. Other than M105 I havn't been excited about a new product in quite a few years.

Andy
