Audi A4 (love those black Audis...)

Process:



Wash/dry: Meg's Gold Class, wheels got P21S/h2o

Clayed only hood and fenders since I clayed the car last fall and didn't need it again)

Black magic on all exterior trim

Polish:

Meg's #4 yellow pad (some areas that were really bad)

Meg's #83 yellow pad

Meg's #80 orange pad

Meg's #82 orange pad

Natty's Blue Paste Wax on top



Interior:

Lexol cleaner

Lexol conditioner

Armor all (yes Armor-all) on the dash and door panels (I hate it like many others on the softer vinyl/leather but for harder/rougher vinyl surfaces like many BMWs and audi's have, I think it gives it a nice look)

Stoner's on the glass

Vacuumed everything



Took about 7.5 hours

Oh and if anyone's wondering, I didn't tape off all the trim because I want to see how easy it is to take the polish off the trim since it has the Black magic on it... not taping the trim would save a lot of time so I want to try it out... Mother's back to black worked well this way before
 
The car turned out great... not perfect but I wasn't going for that... All the swirls cleaned up well and the car was black again...

Hey I have an Audi a4 santorin blue and about to do a detail. I have about the same amount of swirl marks as you and was wondering what polish you used and what you used to apply it (PC?) Please give me all the info you can because from what i hear Audi clear coat is very very hard. What did you use to cut it. Car looks real good!

Polishes are listed above... I used a makita rotary...

I used #4 on some places where it was really badly swirled (mostly the hood and trunk)

#83 got rid of almost everything on the rest of the car, and #80 really cleaned it up

and yes, I've done a few Audis and all have had really hard clear
 
the car looks really nice. The owner's gonna be really happy. How'd you like #83? I wish it didn't dust so much. I find myself having to wash or thorougly QD the car because of the amount of dust it produces.

What pad do you use with it ? I know it shouldn't have much to do with it but I find that the rougher the pad the more dusting I get... maybe I just don't work it in enough with finer pads, or I work it in too much with the rougher ones... idk but I love how it corrects the paint haha

I use it with the Meg's Burgundy cutting pad and the Yellow polishing pad and the amount of dust it leaves behind is frustrating. This was with a PC. I've yet to try it out with the Makita.

Thanks... I'm trying to get a car that size done in 6-7hrs. max... plan is to go back to Meg's stuff only and perfecting a technique so I know exactly what each polish/pad combo can do to save time and get better results... hopefully it works good haha
 
Looking good! I detest those Audi's finishes sometimes, but they are worth working in the end!

I'm not sure about the mods... I know it's chipped... the owner's in the market for an S4 same body style (b5 i think... sorry I'm a BMW guy haha)

Great job on black!! Everytime I think that I am doing good work with my PC I see the results from a rotary......what a difference! Good job bro!!
