What are you doing? Shop, mobile, volume....spill the beans dude.

For now, just getting acclimated with the new terrain. Hopefully eventually getting a chance to work with some of the local detailing celebs. My old shop may be for sale, but not sure if geographically this will work out with my vision. I'd really like to build a very modern hand car wash/volume detail shop in a high profile location if time and finances serve me right. Time will tell.

Welcome back to the mitt. Tigers are a game down, the Lion's are 5-0, and the Wings are looking strong - it's a good time to get back. I'll have your Faygo and Better Made chips watiing!

Yup, after requesting a transfer over a year ago, it finally popped! Beside sports, I can't wait to sink my teeth into some Coney's, Middle Easter and Mongolian BBQ....

Thanks Chad. Marc is about 1 mile away from where I'll be initially staying for the remainder of the year. After that, he'll still be within my crosshairs.

Sorry to see you leave, David. Florida's losing one of its few premier detailing gurus :(

HaHa - Thanks Bill. I'll sure miss seeing my daily spottings of Rolls, Ferrari's and Lambo's. Back to Fords, GM's and Chryslers!!

Congrats David. Can't wait to hear about your new venture !!!

Thanks Pat. I'll finally have a chance to start posting all the pics/write ups I've accumulated over the last couple years! I'm sure the palm trees in the background will be a dead giveaway.

David I am sad that such a good friend is moving so far away and yet excited because I know your family and you are happy to be going home. You have been such a good friend and have always gotten my back, even when I begged you not to! You have done such much for me (and others) that you will never get credit for but I am a much better person on many levels for being lucky enough to call you a friend.

Best of luck and I'll see you around!

Hi Autopians and everyone following this thread. I’m just now getting semi-settled after making this move from Florida to Michigan. I still have about 75 more boxes to unpack and stuff is literally scattered throughout my new home. We made a drastic error to not note the contents in each box so it’s been like a scavenger hunt looking for some of the essential items like bath towels, pots/pans and everyday things. I’m still waiting for my internet, cable & phone line to get installed and is the main reason why I haven’t been on the forum in such a long time. The coverage for the wireless card in my work computer is horrendous to say the least. I just switched from a Sprint to Verizon and so here we go…

3 things that are a huge change for me is the climate, literally no sun and coming back to the nicest people in the world….Mid-Westerners!! What a break from the hustle and bustle of S. Florida (mini-New York). Oh, and another huge thing is the non-existence of luxury, high-end and exotic cars. I went from seeing a dirty Ferraris, Lambos and Rolls everyday to dirty Fords, Chryslers and Chevys. What a difference!

Looking forward to putting things together (detailing wise) in the days to come, but I will still be making trips back to FL every other month as my clients there still want me to maintain there cars. Also, I will be trying my best to handle the influx of new clients coming in too. Having 6 weeks of paid time off each year really allows versatility in my schedule. Everyone should still keep referring clients to me in both Michigan, but S. Florida as Todd Helme & I will continue to work together to get things taken care of like always. I might even try getting a large group of people together to do a mass detail if I get too congested. We’ll see how it goes.

Here’s a couple of shots of our moving truck in Wellington, FL & Grosse Pointe, MI. As you can see I picked one of the best times of year to move.

Also interested in a clinic. Welcome back to the murder mitten!

Not only will there be a clinic, but a Midwest Autopia Detail Fest coming this year too. Will be talking with Tunch to see what, where & when this can take place.

:whoo: :whoo: Now THAT'S what I like to hear!

I'm sure we can find a facility somewhere; let me know if there's anything I can do to help plan/etc.

Yup. I have 2 VERY NICE places picked out actually. Just have to work on a date. I'll be sure to start a new thread for this asap.
